Old Tub and Distillers Cut. Both 100 proof, unfiltered Beam products.  Just imagine the insanity if BT had a couple of Unfiltered 100 proofers for $20 each out in the wild with no markups.  LOL, IT'D BE PANDEMONIUM!

Anyway, DC seemed a tad more fruity with more going on to me.  I'd get it while you can, but both are terrific... Especially for the unbelievable price for this quality of bourbon!!

The JB Distiller's Cut has vanished from the retail shelves in our neck of the woods.  It makes a great "extender" vatting with my old 7yr Baker's bottles and smooths out the pour a bit.  Only have 2 left in the bunker.   ?

I sent an email to Beam-Suntory a while back, still no response.  I was asking about the Distiller's Cut & Old Tub.  We had DC in the past.  I haven't seen it in years.  I believe the label had 2017 on the side.  I wonder if you are still finding old stock.

I had a store check for me.  They were not able to order Old Tub.

Beam also had the Repeal Batch (also unfiltered).  I thought that was a tasty pour, but only 86 proof.

I've never seen either one of these on the shelf in Ohio. I'd be all in on both if I were to find one.

I found about 8 distillers cuts for 24$ last week. Old stock for sure. That is the only place ive lucked up on em this whole year. Online i found em in a miami store for $21. Can send the link if anyones interested.
Has Beam said if this is gone for good?

It took a little hunting to find an Old Tub around me, I'm in So Cal.  However a couple of my Total Wines always have DC on the shelf.  At least for now.

DC, according to the manager at my total wine, said that it is a current product and they will be getting in in regularly. in the last three months they have got it in, sold it out and got it back again.  so hoping it stays around for a long time

The Total Wine I go to here in the East Bay has Distiller's Cut for $17.99.  To me, it's really good - kind of a "baby Baker's" and a steal at that price.  I much prefer it to the Repeal Batch and the BiB.  Just got two bottles of Old Tub from K&L and am looking forward to trying it as soon as an open bottle in the cabinet gives up the ghost.  Jefferson's Very Old Very Small Batch and Bulleit Single Barrel are getting low... ?

Bought  2 DCs (all they had on the shelf) in July at Lexington TW. Both had 2017 on side label so I assume this was overlooked  stock the distributor stumbled across. Mrs. F and I like the Repeal too but, like fosmith, prefer the DC.  I hope john E is right and there is more in the pipeline.

I thought the DC was supposed to be a 2017 only product. Would love to be able to find more of this. Finished my last bottle a few months ago. Old Tub sold out in 2 days around me so I didn't get one. I heard they are on secondary for 3x the price. That is what I dislike about bourbon these days.

Can't find either here but snagged a DC out-of-state and could've had Old Tub from WV the other day for $30.  Not sure if I made a good call...

Old Tub was supposed to show up here 3 weeks ago. It hasn’t. No Distiller’s Cut in a long time. However, the Repeal Batch has popped up again at one store. ?

I'm in the camp that doesn't like Beam products at a young age so these don't appeal to me. I'm happy for those who like it however because it's cool to have an unfiltered whiskey for such a low cost.

The Distiller's Cut is long gone from these parts,  but I snagged a bottle of Old Tub last month and it seems to be basically the same thing.   The unfiltered presentation is not a gimmick, the OT has that same oilier mouthfeel that I enjoyed about the DC.    The OT has that familiar Beam family peanut brittle note; it's not long aged and I think a side by side is due with JB Black, which would be interesting in order to compare the same mashbill with different presentations:  Is it improved more better with greater age or with no filtration?

Even though the Repeal Batch is a lower proof it is NCF and to me is worth having in the rotation.

Yes, then why don't they make Beam Black non-filtered?    I have absolutely nothing against how Beam markets its products; there is simply no other distiller that offers more choice among its presentations of the same basic mashbill!    But I'm with you,  if you're going to introduce a non-filtered product,  the next step is to do it with better aged Beam.

I really enjoyed the Distiller's Cut and ended up buying half a dozen when they hit $17.99 clearance.  That was a great deal!

I wasn't nearly as enamoured of the Pre Prohibitiion, even for the $9.99 sale prices I've seen. Its okay, and I probably should have bought a few for experimentation with infusions and such because of the price point, but honestly it didn't have the same magic as the DC.

I just got a bottle of the Old Tub and I'm not sure how I feel about it.  It's okay with a good flavor, but at the $23.99 price point I'm happy to stick with the regular JB BiB.  In fact, I'm going to sbs them as I'm not sure there's much of a difference.  It's been a few months since I've had the BiB in my rotation, so my memory is a little vague.

I haven't tried the JB Black, maybe that's in this same vein?

Seems they are canablizing some of their own sales...

Was a big fan of DC, pretty sure I bought up every bottle in a 20 mile radius near me when I saw it. Haven't seen it in the past year here though (I did see it at one place but it was marked up to $33...so pass). Always hopefully to stumble into some out of the way store with old stock still available. No OT at any store near me yet.

Even though it was supposed to be on the shelves at one place here three weeks ago, it still hasn’t showed up yet Jeff. I stopped at a couple of places on the way home from visiting Galvin0791 earlier today. One place had no clue at all what Old Tub even was. The other said it looked like they are scheduled to get some in November. WTF?

The box ALWAYS adds another 5% of enjoyment per pour.
