Heat up a lot of butter in a skillet,(the bread absorbs a good bit of it)....cut a hole in the bread with a biscuit cutter, or glass, put the bread in the pan, crack an egg into the hole, and fry everything up, flipping once. Salt & pepper to taste after you flip. I sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the round pieces... Edited February 15 by Skinsfan1311

As kids, my brother and I used to make that for dear old Mom as a Mother's Day and birthday "breakfast-in-bed" treat for her. We'd get up at the crack of dawn and make a batch for her and Dad and bring it to them. She always loved it so much. This brings back dear memories of my childhood and family. Clueby
Homemade slingers this morning. Sweet potato hash browns, some cajun Jake's Country Sausage patty, a couple eggs, Mrs. Clueby's chili, cheddar, onions, and a few dashes of Frank's hot sauce. That's a small 8" plate but I couldn't eat it all. The dog had to finish it. Edited February 16 by Clueby
fishnbowljoe
Lunch at the Legion yesterday. Our club managers husband made steak sliders. She made waldorf salad (not pictured) as a side dish. The slider was great. The waldorf salad was great too. The first bite brought back fond memories of the waldorf salad my mom made when I was a kid.

The first bite brought back fond memories of the waldorf salad my mom made when I was a kid. My Mom and her twin sister both made Waldorf salad for special occasions. I absolutely loved both or their slightly different recipes. ...Another of the things I miss since they've both gone on to their reward. I think I've only had one helping of a similarly delicious Waldorf salad since Mom's last one. ...And, that was a mighty long time ago.

fishnbowljoe
I went to the fish fry at my American Legion post this evening. My meal was good, but a pleasant surprise was better. I’ve coached/worked with special needs people for 17 years. From 2008 thru 2023, it was with Special Olympics bowling. For the last two years it’s been with a special needs/autism bowling program at my local bowling alley. Every few weeks or so, a lady that works at a home that several of the bowlers live at, brings them to the Legion for our fish fry. Tonight was one of those nights. Also and FWIW, the son of the lady that does the fish fry and a friend of his help with the fish fry. They also bowl in the program I help with! Yes, it was a great evening.
