Is this the place where Pennsylvanians go to load up on cheap booze, but the PA police have the store scoped out looking for PA license plates in the store parking lot so they can nab them when they cross back over the bridge into PA?  I remember hearing a story of such douchebaggery by the cops on some interstate bridge crossover.

I've heard that specific rumor regarding the big Total Wine just off 95 over the Pennsy border in Delaware.    To get to State LIne Liquors,  though,  you have to keep on 95 through Delaware (only about 12-15 miles),  to the first exit over the Maryland line.    There are several good  stores in Elkton ;  I think years ago there was a difference in  legal drinking ages  that turned Elkton into a booze oasis.    Save your pennies and make the trip!

I found the thread from a number of years ago where some PA members discuss the operation:

Yep, you’re in trouble. I’ve been gritting my teeth for 3 years now due to PA’s liquor laws.

What part of PA are you in? Ohio and Maryland are both good and NY state. Let me know if I can lend you a hand on your hunt!

I am in bucks county, just north of philly, but a world away from philly, I have heard you can order online but there are a few things that just do not come to pa, stagg, weller, high west other than a few of the common ones.   Eagle rare and buffalo trace come once a month and are gone same day

Weller can be a "special order" and stagg drops at random.

Yes I did see the 11/yr rye.  At $75 I just could not do it.  From my understanding a rye does not need that much aging.

I actually ended up making a drive up to PA, just to scoop a couple of these. And I think they are easily worth the $75. I even got a backup. It is pretty wood influenced, bit they backed down the proof to just the perfect level. It is the most subtle and complex BS rye I've ever had.
