What bourbon did you pass on fall 2021?

Quick stop, and a quick look at one place today. They had BH on sale for $30.99. I passed, but I admit I did hesitate slightly before going on my way. I’ve always thought BH was just okay, and never really sought it out. The crazy thing is, there’s been a few times when I ordered  BH because it was about the best a bar had to offer. Darned if I wasn’t surprised how good it was each and every one of those times. 🤔 Hence my hesitation today.

I passed again this year on all the stores doing their annual Black Friday "come stand in line for four hours and maybe get a bottle of something allocated" shenanigans.  Respect for all the SBers who

RVW Lot B 12 YR dropped today at a local store.  Got an email telling me I could buy one of the two they got for $1,350 plus local tax.  I passed.  As I type this, I am sipping on a KC SiB 9YR 120 pro

I was thinking seriously of plunking down $130 or so today for a Sam Houston 15.   Instead I decided to spend the scratch on THIS.

This past weekend I passed on a Michter's 10-yr rye for ~$120 at Kroger... and now I feel regret.

That’s just your swollen wallet pushing on your leg from saving your money.

It’ll be ok.

Today I saw Knob Creek 12 for $99.99. This was at a place that is notorious for hiking up prices. I found a KC12 last year at another store for MSRP and LOVED IT. Been looking for another since. Then saw this today and was like hell no.

Yea, the KC12 is by far my fav KC.  I've 3 bottles so easy pass.  But even if in your shoes with none in hand, I'd wait and see what future finds.  I hope KC12 will be a regular and MSRP seems to be right price point for the product.  Only pay more if ya thirsty.

Not specifically passing on these but one of the local chains is having a drawing to purchase one of the following bottles.  However, I can say I would pass on all of these at the listed prices.

They are also having a 20% off sale if you purchase two bottles of any bourbon, rye or whiskey.  That I will probably participate in.

Winners will have the option to purchase the following at said retail:

10-Van Winkle 10 – $99.99
20-Van Winkle 12 – $119.99
5-Van Winkle 15 – $199.99
1-Van Winkle Rye - $249.99
3-Van Winkle 20 – $299.99
1-Van Winkle 23 – $499.99
20-Weller 3pk – $299.99

Names will be drawn for specific items in order, if winner does not want that specific bottle than it will be saved for another right-to-buy raffle in the future.

You think if you won they’d knock off 20% if you snagged another bottle? 😉

Passed on KC12, Larceny BPECBP, HMcK10BiB, all at double to triple MSRP.  No wonder they were all still on the shelf.

Did a little hunting....these 2 are priced about as bad as I have ever seen..  They appear to be almost 8X+!

I’d pay that for some WT Revival. One of my favorite pours.

I had a Stagg Jr and 2 Eagle Rare's.  They had their own Eagle Barrel.

Knock the first 2 digits off that WSR price tag and it would be exactly what I paid for it the last time I bought one. It was a routine pass at for me at 9.99 so this is beyond laughable. I heard it got better but no F’n way it’s that good.

The 18 is a bit too oaky for me, so I left these two for you fellas.
