Yup, protective adaptation, when in Rome, n'at.  Growing up in Youngstown, we new how to act in the Big City to the East (it's all comparative!).

 

Though Eldest Daughter does have some sauce.  Loud Browns fan, wears her jerseys everywhere.  Yinzers seem to have a good sense of humor.....

I recollect that one of you Yinzers likes rum.  I can cart bottles from Puerto Rico, up to 12.  See my post in the rum section.  The Corfino is really good and unique.  I will take a full pic of duty free and send it.  Also, I can get the one bottle they make only at the Bacardi distillery.  Good, spendy (circa $160).  I prefer their next label down, comes in a black tube, about $80.

 

That or some nice Rican Shine, called Pitoro.  It'll put hair on your chest and take paint off the car.

After a long drought I went pretty crazy today.  The Stagg Jr. pick we did in March of 2021 finally landed and it took them so long it’s no longer a Jr.!  I also picked up three different regular BT SiB picks in 375ml bottles, a 9 year ECBP pick, another ECBPA122, and several bottles of a six year 95/5 MGP Rye that is absolute .  
 

Looking forward to sitting down with a glass of Stagg Jr. batch 17 and the new Stagg SiB pick for a blind once the kiddos are down for the night.

Funny memory.  Back in my college days at the U of Oklahoma we had a guy from Pittsburgh in the dormitory.  First person I had ever met from Pittsburgh.  The first time he said that word, I thought he was referring to Japanese currency.

I went to eastern KY (Daniel Boone Forrest and Red River Gorge).  A fair amount of rain so I did some “hunting” in the “Weez kin” areas.  When it rains, it pours!

This was from an evening of shooting billiards near Hazard.  The owner of the bar/pool hall offered it to pay a considerable debt he incurred that evening.  I graciously accepted.

That’s an awesome haul right there! I’ve got one of the white HH6 open and just one left. Funny how it’s turned into something I pull out for newer Bourbon drinkers to try vs the daily or Freezer pour it used to be.

I know @Kepler, I know. I bought plenty of HH6 over the years. I shared quite a bit of ‘em with some of the guys in our local bourbon and cigar group. What can I say?

SE of Lexington.  Traveled south from the Gorge and traveled along the Appalachian Mtns.  I went through Harlan Co and headed west back home.  I’ve done a lot of hiking in the area over the years.  
I was drinking in a bar in Hazard with the owner.  We started shooting billiards and talking about the “good olde days of bourbon”.   When it came time to settle up, he offer the Stagg Jr  in lieu of his table bets and my bar tab.  I didn’t realize it was b9 until later that night.  I was thrilled as mine were long gone and that is still my favorite batch.
