Finally picked up an order the other day that had been accumulating though not all bourbons. First time I’ve had opportunity to get Weller FP and RHF at msrp - have never even tried them yet as didn’t want to pay the silly secondary markup. Also had to re-up on a finished bottle of Rare Breed.

Got the Forteleza lineup as my contribution to future tequila tasting with some friends. Also hadn’t seen Springbank in awhile and was nursing what I had left so was glad to finally see it restocked for a brief minute.

I know @Kepler, I know. I bought plenty of HH6 over the years. I shared quite a bit of ‘em with some of the guys in our local bourbon and cigar group. What can I say? 🙂

We made a quick trip to Sam’s Club this afternoon to pick up a few essentials that were finally back in stock. Yes, I looked in the liquor department. Handles of MM there are normally $42.98, which is a pretty decent price. I guess they’re belatedly clearing out the back room of some Xmas gift sets. Besides the MM handles at regular price, they also had handles of MM with a serving tray for $38.91. I took it as a sign when I opened one box and saw the bottle was dipped by my gal at MM. One came home with me. 😃

Are gift boxes with 1.75 bottles typical in your neck of the woods?  I can't remember seeing that.

Ya’ know @Kepler, I was thinking it was kinda odd. I’ve seen 750’s, liters, and even multiple 375’s in gift sets before, but not 1.75’s. 🤔 FWIW, I really didn’t need the MM. I have a 750 open and two in the bunker. I just couldn’t resist considering the novelty, the price and a free gift. ;)

"Need" is a relative term.

I finally have a bit of W12 breathing room so might make a small batch of SB blend.

A trip to Costco for the meats I will be smoking for Easter dinner turned into bourbon run as 4 bottles followed me home.

2 bottles of Eagle Rare for $33 each, 1 bottle Larceny Barrel Proof A122 for $56, and 1 bottle of Buffalo Trace for $28.

The BT bottle will go in my son's (adult son) Easter basket as he is just starting to enjoy the brown more then the clear.

His bottle of choice has been Bulleit Frontier bourbon which we get as Costco when he is home in the 1.75.  The other

3 will go into the bunker for now.

BTW - St Louis cut spare ribs at $3.99/lb?  Seems like only a few months back I was paying $2.39/lb at Costco.

Local is releasing a BP single barrel this weekend so they are having a sale on all things OF this week. I really like this stuff but don't find myself purchasing very often for some reason. Price maybe?  On sale this was $48.99 before tax.20220412_204048.thumb.jpg.c58575e1117343de6a2e2673e0d6342d.jpg

Regular price for the 1920 here is $51.99. I like the 1897, and it’s $53.99. The 1910 is $48.99.  Before Xmas last year, I bought a 375 ml package set of the three for $45.99.

FWIW, the 1897 really reminds me of OF BIB from years ago. It’s got that “dusty” taste and mouth feel. Viscous and chewy, with a swirl of caramel, butterscotch & vanilla flavors, and just the right amount of oak and smoke. Not sure if I’ll spring for the 1897 or not. I do have an old  tax stamped 1.75 in my bunker. Might have to crack it open soon.

1920 is usually $56.99 here at non-gouge stores. Some stores have it as high as $65. 1910 seems to be all over the place.  Sometimes its $49.99, other times its $64.99.  I've seen it as high as $99.99.

Under $50 for 1920 (which I like the best out of the bunch) was a no-brainer.

I get to Indy Saturday circa noon.  I can check and see if they still have it and bring you one if desired.  Kroger.

My lucky day.  This was a gift.  It's good to have relatives who live in Ohio, do not like bourbon, but are willing to bird-dog.

Now having a sip of Weller SiB in addition.  I can see why so many like it.

Thanks, but no thanks. Just wanted you to wave hello if you’re near the southeast side/Beech Grove. 🤗 Born and raised there. 🙂 Have a good trip.

Had a whole case of this sittin in the shelf at the grocery store I was just at no limit. Weird how some areas have more stock than others of certain products

It's been a while since I've purchased bourbon/rye-- but things seemed to be finally flowing in again yesterday-- although Scotch is still somewhat missing in action.

Interested in your thoughts on the Fable & Folly. The little I’ve heard has been mixed. But the Rhetoric I’ve quaffed has been tasty, so I’ll be curious to read your tasting notes.

The indy area Krogers are having a 30% off sale through 4/16.  6 bottle purchase requirement. @PaulO or I can direct you to best stRES when you get here depending on the side of town you are on.

Big Red is having a 20% off sale. 3 bottle requirement.

We can also provide local stores of interest via PM.

As a general rule-- I never buy a duplicate bottle. So, there you go… it's like blending your wife today with your bride 30 years ago.
