flahute
Inspired by how much I liked the gifted to me Glenfiddich 18 I decided to go out and buy the 14yr aged in ex bourbon casks and the 15yr aged in new oak and ex sherry casks. I really like them both. Now the search begins for the 21yr plus.
GaryT
Was a rare oddity on a couple fronts when out and about I spotted a liquor store I hadn't been in, and the wife said "Why don't you go check it out?" After asking to see some ID, we did just that - and again the surprises continued when she pulled a Kilkerran 8yr CS out of its tube and said "Oooo - I like the color on this; I want to try it - get this!" I didn't see anything that excited me in the store (had some dusty Baker's 7yr, but at $58 I wasn't interested), but since I think this is maybe the 2nd or 3rd time my wife has picked out a bottle of whisk(e)y she was interested in - wasn't going to discourage that. Cracked it shortly after arriving home, and neither of us were disappointed.
LCWoody
Pick this up last week in Texas. Looking forward to opening it up soon.
Marekv8
It's been quite a while since I've seen NYC this alive-- it was a positive day. The GlenDronach was an arranged marriage- the Glenmorangie was more of a dusty hunch. Now I've got to get these guys home.

Marekv8
Always seems easier to find Scotch in Kentucky than interesting bourbon…
Edd
My son was able to grab me two of these while TDY in California. I haven't seen one in N. Fl for quite awhile. Crazy that it's $30 cheaper in California per bottle as well.
Marekv8
An odd mix… strange that the official Glenturret surfaced Stateside after a couple of years.

smokinjoe
Local did a select of an Indi bottling of a Craigellachie. It’s a big whiskey. Part of that is surely that it is cask strength, but there are some serious guts to it’s components, as I taste it now. That said, I’m OK with it, but I need more time to decide if I go for another.

Craigellachie is one of those 'meaty' pours, lots of character in the distillate, this looks ace!

Marekv8
My traditional mixed bag... we opened a couple at the store. I'm so out of space, I sense another drain pour session in the very near future.
Kjbarth
I’ll take any of those to prevent a drain pour of those. DM me.

Marekv8
I successfully donated, drained-poured or otherwise disposed of over 600 bottles this past two weeks-- so got a little carried away at the shop. The screw-cap Weller 12 has a 2022 laser code etched on top of an earlier code, but for $49.95 I wasn't asking questions.
BigRich
I was killing time during lunch today and popped into a store that I hadn't been in for a while. Toward the end of my window shopping, I came across of a bottle of Tullibardine 25 yr at the original 2013 price. Well that went home with me. Ya know, because of the savings.
