Now that sounds refreshing!  How is the weather down your way?  I know it has been toasty in San Antonio and Corpus Christi where I have friends.  I believe they have even had 100 degree temps already this year.

Got a lot of work done this week and there is still one more day left in the workweek.  Celebrating with a pour or two...ok, three of Woodinville Single Barrel.  The first few sips seemed a little hot but now I am getting a nice spicy leathery entry and finish.  I actually prefer the 90 proof but I wouldn't turn down another bottle of the single barrel.  I would love to try a BIB  version.

Low 90's but even that is a punch to the face when it's the first hot weather of the year.  Oh well, might as well get conditioned to it.  Time to toughen up and settle in for a long summer...

On the bright side, I already have my liter of 4R yellow label in the freezer.

North.  For some people around here they consider I might as well be in the arctic circle, Lol

I opted for a third pour because I am me and I am being forced to watch (not really) some crap on tv (really) by my family.  I am actually posting on SB.com.  There is no nudity in what they are watching so I have no interest.  They think I am watching but that is a fallacy.  The third pour will be the beginning of my weekend even though I have to go to work tomorrow.  Friday is donut day.  Me and Homer Simpson rock Fridays.  Actually, tomorrow will be a busy day at work.  So, I might need more bourbon tomorrow night.

To follow up on the stolen bottle of OWA from last Friday (furniture delivery guy stole a bottle off my shelf), I settled with the store for $100. All in all, I thought the store really stepped up and made it right.

Calumet 14 and wow is this good. I've been resisting this and the 15 for a while now because I've long gotten past the temptation of the NDPs that have been proliferating. However, Big Rich's endorsement as well as one of my colleagues resulted in a weak moment. Was at my local after work for other reasons and saw one lonely bottle on the shelf and capitulated and I'm really glad I did!

Dusty night tonight. The first pour of the evening was an older Old Forester BIB. Next up was a pour of Old Fitz BIB. Ahhhhhhh, wonderful.

In response to your scatological insinuation (where'd you learn Australian slang?), I offer the following since a "picture is worth a thousand words" - (Old Chinese Proverb).  

 

 

 

 

It's a wine bottle stand!  He's just presenting the bottle of fine wine, kneeling with proper respect, of course.  

 

Now we can all rest easy and contemplate our evening pours of great bourbon for tonite!   Cheers.

Picked up a family sized of one of my favorite daily drinkers, today.  Quickly filled the empty kid when I got home, and just poured a glass over ice and heading outside to begin the weekend.  I’m not sure spending $24 has made me more happy and content!

Just got home from a four night Disney cruise.  Searched Nassau for a bourbon, not surprisingly there isn’t much to report.  Did find plenty of Cuban cigars though and I have no doubt as to the authenticity.  The street vendors assured me of that.

Anyway, did a bourbon tasting on board - Knob Creek 100, Woodford Reserve, Larceny, and Blanton’s.  Enjoyed all of them, but now that I’m home I’m pouring some Heaven Hill BiB and sorta regretting the $45 I spent on the tasting experience and kinda thinking the Undercrown I’m smoking is significantly better than any of the “Cuban” cigars I could have had (at quite the discounted price, I might add).  I did pick up a Graycliffe though, and those are pretty good.

But back to the Heaven Hill…really nice pour, nice blend of sweet and spice.  Anyone else like this one?  I’ve decided it merits a permanent spot in my bar.

HHBIB is certainly solid.  However, you should have no regrets for enjoying bourbon while relaxing with Mickey.  I have had some overpriced pours at DW and enjoyed each and everyone of them.  Life is an experience.  And from the sound of it you had a great one!

It's interesting, we don't get that bottling (90 proof with the red stripe) here in TX.  We get the 86 and the 100.

I opened up new bottles of Weller 12 and OWA and had a pour of each.  W12 is my jam, but I noticed that the Antique tasted better than I remember my last bottle tasted.
