Yet another long day today. Tomorrow will add to the streak, but in a good way. My wife and I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage. Also, even though there’s one more week of school left, my grand daughter will be participating in her 8th grade class celebration. (graduation) Should be a fun day. Biba! Joe It looks like you have a very good day on tap. Happy Anniversary and congratulations!

Rhettro
My buddy and I spent the day clearing out and closing down my booze-packed storage unit. We excitedly moved it all to my new home here in northern Virginia. After all of the schlepping (and a few well deserved ice cold beers) I’m finally kicking my sore feet up and relaxing with a pour of Little Book Ch. 3.
Anwalt
I received a most excellent education yesterday. 10 bourbons over 5 hours along with a very nice cigar (Robaina). Also somewhat exceeded my "4 ounces on drinking days quota". I can see why some people are willing pay for certain bottles. I liked the Weller 12 a lot. The Willet was spectacular. I learned what "leather" meant with the Michter's, that term never made sense to me as a flavor note. All of it was very good. The bourbon community is generous. As you can tell, the shared sips were on the really good end of things. Happily, my new friend lives less than a mile away, is from KY with sources there, and is interested in some of the bottles I have (I dislike receiving without giving). He is the one who recommended & brought that KC Sib Select from Westport Whiskey & Wine; I look forward to trying it. All & all a Nice Thing.

Def the best of the series by a mile and in the running for best Beam I’ve ever had. Some of the older 13-15 year KCSiB would also be up there on my list.

Bourbon Scout
1st taste of OF1920 for me. Have had 1910 and love it. I figure soon I will have the whole whiskey row line up, hopefully before I empty one.

mbroo5880i
I have been trying not to drink during the week. I dunno why. I guess it is a pyscho....logical thing. But, after a great experience at work today. I attended a regulatory meeting with a state agency that was led by two former employees from a former life when I was a manager. They did a great job dealing with a difficult issue. Our relationship goes back 25+ years. I had assembled a great team. I always told them I was the weak link which was true. After work, I planted two really large trees - by hand and shovel - which made my wife happy. So....tonight the bottle is open and I pour. Pour de jour...Four Roses Small Batch Select. At $30 it would be a "daily" pour. At $40 which I paid at a 30% off sale, it is a special treat. This pour has really grown on me. This bottle is getting low and might get emptied while I watch the Miami-Boston playoff game. It will be replaced.

GaryT
Enjoying some Old Ezra B 12 yr single barrel this lovely, albeit humid, Tuesday evening. After a bad bottle years ago, I never bought another but glad my Dad donated this one to the cause (that cause being . . . my shortage of whiskey? Dunno, but never argue when being gifted fine whiskey!!)
