Thank you. And yes - if you have an extra one I SHALL feel better. Balance being maintained & all.

I have been enjoying your bottle openings & the ensuing descriptions.

Thank you, so have I!

Sitting out front with a nice pour of EW 1783 on a cube in the Yeti.  Enjoying it greatly while also watching a fabulous hummingbird duel over the feeder.  It’s like watching TOP GUN.   Particularly, when one disengages and begins evasive maneuvers, and the other chases in hot pursuit into the sky and looks to get missile lock and deliver a long sharp beak up the ass…😂

Post dinner pour of MM over a large cube.  Too hot to be outside down here.  Heat index is still 102 degrees.🥵

😀😀😀

We have a hummingbird feeder and several types of flowers close to our deck that they love.  They arrive about the same time every evening and even fly in unison right next to where we sit and check us out and then fly away only to return minutes later to fill their bellies.  We have had feeders for years but this has been absolutely the best summer.  Having read up on them, they are quite amazing.  As you say, very enjoyable to watch.

Not out tonight as the heat and humidity are horrendous.  Drinking KC 9.

Had 2 healthy pours of OFSBBS last night. I like this bottle quite a lot. It is admittedly hot. But with wee sips, there's a lot of flavor and a great mouthfeel, a good trade off in my view. Will have to try it side by side with 1920.

A friend who is a big OF fan swears by Warehouse K on the SiB. I have not yet tested that idea either.

Looks like some OF side-by-sides are in order.

I have a friend who is also an attorney.  He often uses the words "direct" and "indirect" when discussing specific events.  As I do not see any glasses close to the bottle, I assume your pours were "direct" as in from the bottle.  😜  JK.  Looks like a great bottle.  My Kroger doesn't stock this stuff.

Brown paper bagging it - minus the bag, lol!

That one was picked up from a Kroger on the first bourbon trail trip a year ago. An old retired engineer working the counter, my son, and I were chatting and giving each other some friendly crap. He said we were the nicest people from Ohio he'd ever met...clearly implying that the bar was very low. He also thought OSU was the best trade school ever. And so it went. Then he pulled that bottle from under the counter and invited us to return for another during his shift the next day so we'd each have one. We returned - directly.

Was in LA for work all day yesterday and flew home on the late Alaska flight with a first class upgrade which meant I was drinking Buffalo Trace out of an actual glass. Had two doubles and it was absolutely on point last night.

Well. My MD narrowed the list of Prohibited Things. He agreed on no cigars for a week and no exercise for 4 days. But booze tonight? AOK.

Here's a toast to Ole' Sawbones.

Whelp. There'll be another drinking pause. Getting the plasma injection to the knee and the sawbones gave me the usual Don't Do Anything You Like list.

Stupid aging.

So, I guess no dancing in the kitchen for a while huh?   But I'll be raising a glass to your speedy recovery.

Well, Doc said I had to abstain for a few days "before". And I did. Making up for lost time. On a weekday. Bad me.

Old Heaven Hill stuff tonight. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the finish on this one, was not expecting a long finish on this!

Here’s some info for ya’ from an old post. The pic below is Toogie.😎

I’ll never forget seeing Fred Noe at Kurtz restaurant In Bardstown one time. Fred and his wife were leaving at the same time as a few of us SBers. There was a bottle of Toogies Batch sitting on the credenza in the entry way just across from the checkout counter. We were talking about it when I commented/asked  “I wonder who Toogie is?” Fred overheard me and nodded towards the lady behind the counter as he said, “Hell, you just met her.”  We all had a good laugh. Toogie included.  Every time I’ve seen her, shes always had a smile on her face. That day she was grinning from ear to ear.  Good stuff.

Glass on glass, nice.  Your cat looks surprised by the how the glass with bourbon in it is to the edge of the glass table top.

Final pour of the night, Booker’s 30th, from 2018.  This is truly what bourbon wants to be when it grows up.  Cheers all!
