mbroo5880i
I saw BT at two stores this weekend. One had it for $24,99 and the other for $34,99. I wasn't interested regardless. The last few bottles have been meh. I passed on a bottle of HMck10 for $79.99. This was actually at one of my favorite indepedent stores. They had a Jefferson's SiB store pick that I really like but I thought the price was $59.99 but the clerk told me it was $69.99. I asked him what else he had that I might enjoy and could try. I opted for a West Fork Whiskey Wheated Bourbon Single Barrel Cask Strength store pick which I found enjoyable despite being only 3+ years old. It is still quite good and reminds me of 2+ year old MGP Wheated Whiskey that I bought a few years back.

PaulO
I passed on standard BT - $25 and change at America's largest retailer. They had two bottles on the shelf. I wasn't even shopping for booze, but had to take a look, since I was already there.

He checked out the liquor and saw EW BIB on clearance for $10.00. He asked an employee to open the glass case. The employee asked how many he wanted. Don was gonna get a couple, but asked how many were left. There was only five or six left, so Don bought ‘em all. Don let our bourbon/beer/cigar guys know. Needless to say, we were more than happy to give Don $10.00 for a bottle.

Ha ha - KC18 is ONLY $169.99 OTD at our local Wegmans' (plural for Wegman's???)!

The $25 plus or minus a little for BT is normal around here. If a person waits for a grocery store sale, the price is closer to $20.

MM is usually around $24.99 for a 750 and $42.99 for a 1.75. On sale price $22.99 for a 750 and $39.99 for a 1.75. BT is mostly between $24.99 and $30.00. It’s usually not on sale. Been over a year since I saw one under $24.99. Weller SR has remained fairly constant at $27.99 for a while now. Tater and near tater stores dominate our area. The prices I mentioned are at a couple of non-tater stores. Binny’s is just okay. Their sale prices are non tater stores regular prices.

fishnbowljoe
I stopped at a grocery store this morning. Long story short, I passed on BT @ $25.99. However, I did buy a bag of white chocolate Kit Kats for my wife instead. Happy wife……..
PaulO
I was at a grocery store yesterday and found a single bottle of EC "Private Barrel" (9 year 120 proof) among the regular EC. No tag on the shelf, so I took it over to a scanner. It came up $79.99 pass.

There are tons of them out there and they sit for a good bit. VA ABC just got some in and they included at least one 10 year barrel and at least one 11 year barrel, so hopefully the age on these will trend back up some.

mbroo5880i
I have been regularly passing on ECBP B524 for $78.99 and ECBP store picks which are normally around $79.99 to $99.99. Passed on a KC18 on the shelf, actually three of them, for $168.99. I can just buy a pair of KC9s for 39.98. The local TW indicates they have them in stock for $159.99. If it is not rare enough to be so difficult to find that I won't find one, then I am not interested.

fishnbowljoe
Shopping at Sam’s Club today. Odd coincidence here. I believe @Phil T mentioned Traveller whiskey in another thread a day or two ago. This is the first time I’ve seen it at Sam’s.

I sometimes wonder if I lived in a different state, like maybe Illinois, and could get WSR for $27.99 if I might actually become a Weller fan. In my state (MS), the cheapest WSR is $40 and you have to be best friends with the owner or else it's $60. A107 is $150 (maybe $100 if you're besties), Full Proof is $200+, W12 is $200+, and I've never seen a SB or CYPB on a shelf for any price. So over a year ago I just began ignoring the Weller lineup completely. It might as well be Pappy 23 - it's something I'm never going to buy, so I just put it out of my mind. All told, $40 for a nice wheater like WSR isn't a bad deal, but I just refuse to pay it when I know it's out there for $28 in other places. Guess I'm the cheap bastard...

The price for Weller SR I posted above is from the one or two non-tater stores in our immediate area like I mentioned. It has been showing up a little more often, but…… Tater stores seem to have it, along with other allocated items, on their shelves a bit more regularly. Probably because of the prices. Weller SR-$49.99, ER-$69.99, EH Taylor SmB-$99.99, Blanton’s-$199.99+. Binny’s is a toss up. A few dollars higher than the good stores, but you still have to get lucky. Be there at the right time or you miss out. There are people that scout Binny’s. If they put an allocated item out, these people get on their phones immediately. Example: Last week Binny’s received a case of Stagg. Even with a limit of one, they were gone in 40 minutes.
mbroo5880i
I have bought an OWA in a lottery and a WL12 when an employee was trying to find where it belonged on the shelf. But, I haven't seen I haven't seen a Weller product on the shelf or in a case in Indiana in over 10 years. This has forced me to explore other options for wheated bourbon and whiskeys. I bought several bottles of Wheated Whiskey, 4 years old, CS, store pick at a store now closed that I compare favorably to WL12 and OWA. Just a slight notch below but quite good was another CS Store Pick. Both options were/are available and, in my area, much cheaper than WSR, WL12, or OWA. I can't buy if if I can't find it. There are plenty of options available. The same thing with Stagg. I have seen it but at double MSRP. I can buy two KC120 SiBs, and KC9 for that price. Same with Blanton's. If the distributors want to play games, I just adjust to the rules and find different ways to score. I don't need to hit HRs, score 80 yard TDs, or stand in line for 10 hours to win at this game.

mbroo5880i
I ran across ECPB B524 triplets today. I need to do a little stocking up so I could pick one up for $65 with a discount. I can also grab an ECPB C924 for the same price. I have read reviews. It sounds like the 2024 releases are all pretty similar. Standard ECBP profile. What do others think?
