I passed on another 4R SiB PS priced at $100 last weekend.  This time it was a ten year OBSO.

It keeps getting worse.  Today after work I went to a different store and saw another 4R barrel pick.  $120.  This one was an 11 year F recipe.  As in "no F-ing way I'm buying that."  That's the highest I've ever seen a Four Roses barrel pick priced.  No thanks.

Had some errands to run today. So, I stopped at Binny’s again. I also stopped at another store. I passed on everything. Must be the weather. 🌤️😎

I passed on a RR15 pour last night at $65 / 2oz

Im not telling you it’s worth that asking price,

but you definitely want to taste the RR15!

I’m wanting for a bottle of that really bad.

Hmmm . . . . didn't @Clueby just pick up a bottle a few days ago?  Or you and your SWMBO are always welcome here in Beantown!  😎

Yes, but I haven’t successfully talked him out of his yet 😂.

If I’m ever in your area, you’ll be my first phone call!

Our flight home from Louisville had a layover at Midway.  I was going to Uber to the nearest Binny's and grab some bottles but, alas, we had already checked our bags.

Had dinner with the family tonight at an upscale restaurant.  After looking at the available bourbon, I told the waiter "I'll have a Diet Pepsi."

The nearest Binny’s to midway might not be the best one to check out...

True, but I couldn't justify spending $160 on Ubers back and forth to the flagship store.  Might have to do another road trip next year then I'll have the freedom (and trunk space) to go where I want and buy what I want.  Plus, I am REALLLLY trying to cut back on my buying...

Haven't been in this discussion in a while as I'm trying to restrict myself to 6 bottles this year and I'm already at 5.

Anyway, I passed on museum prices on a couple of trips when I was passing through NY.  I say museum because I've seen ya'll mention the museums where the bottles are in glass cases, and that's the first time I've seen the actual "museum" style display...lol. My favorite one was a Michter's BP rye for $275...I was actually looking for one of those but that was over 2x what I'm willing to pay.

Also am passing on going into any local stores (VA) for now since they decided to start putting "allocated" stuff on the shelf.  In the off chance I actually see something of interest I'd probably buy it just because haven't been able to for so long.

Holy Cannoli, I wouldn't pay that either. We are "supposed" to get MBSR for circa $110 in PR aka MSRP. Based on the 22's that Obree found me, I'm willing to pay that much for a few. Didn't try the '23.

THIS re: Va's ABC policy change.  Over the years, I've sort of learned which VA ABC stores in Arlington and around Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania & Louisa Counties get those "allocations" regularly and which get them only sometimes.  Now that they are going on the shelves instead of into the back room, when I know I'll be traveling close to one or more of those stores, I check the ABC website that AM to see what their inventories look like.  The policy change has made this a little more fun for me - more stops with only occasional "Oh, you just missed the last bottle," but it has allowed me to cut down on random drop-ins to stores and from aggressive hunting at multiple stores.  Bottom line - I console myself on bad days by hitting my bunkers.  Yeah, I have a couple.

The orange line will take you from midway to the south loop. It's about a 5 minute walk to the store from the Roosevelt station.

I asked for a diet coke.  They said "We have pepsi products."  I said, "Good thing since you have shit for a bourbon selection."

I passed on a lot of things.  My mind was in a blur as I ran into the store to get MM46 and KC9 for $20 each.  Daddy don't have time to shopping when he knows what he wants.  Oh ok, I saw a bottle of Larceny BP at the register.  I thought about it for about no time and told the clerk to sack my purchase so I could get on down the road.  He asked if I wanted a receipt. I asked if it would slow me down waiting on one.
