😢😢

I still have one of those left. It’s stored elsewhere for safekeeping. In other words, so I’m not as easily tempered to open it. 🙄

ps. A big thank you to @scratchline for his kindness and generosity many, many years ago during the KBF. 🙏

Both of these were fantastic!

I like both a lot. I got enough of the LC922 & B523 that I have not bothered to buy more.

the YS is growing on me, experimenting with them. The annual LE's strike me as great "sippy" bourbons, very good flavor, not over-powering, and not over-finished.

My most recent empties.  Finished off the Old Fitz last night and the GA12 last week.

The Fitz 11yr was the first in the decanter series and perhaps the worst of them.  Had a barrel funk that I kinda liked on the nose but less so with the taste.  I prefer the 9 and 10 year versions much more.  Looking forward to working through the other unopened newer versions in my stash.

This has been a very good preseason tailgate 😉

I grew up in McLean, Fairfax County, and was a dyed-in-the-wool Skins fan for decades. Born in VA, and lived there until I was 21 (over 50 years ago). The Skins magic ended for me when the team name was changed. I have not seen a game since then.

That out of the way, I admire the choice of Eagle Rare for the occasion!

Those "C" guys loved beating up on the "Dead Men Walking" Patriots last night in the 4th quarter.  Ah, how I long for the "good ole days" of "Who's better - Brady or Belichick?"  🤬

😅

I rarely go to preseason games, but it was an excuse to catch up with some friends,  drink whiskey and smoke cigars.   I went in the stadium, and left after our 1st punt.

I did enjoy watching all those C teamers play while sitting in my LAZYBOY.  Guessing which, if any, would be around after cut-down day was fun, too.  Two of the five I picked acrtually hung on, and the other three look like taxi squad if they don't get picked up.  Finished off a VOB 100 "6" - only about an ounce in it, but I still finished it.

Tonight I'm polishing off another bottle of Statesman.    How long ago was the movie ?   Why do they keep making it and why does it keep scratching my itch?

It's back to the store.

2016??  True, tears are in order for that loss. You have my deepest condolences.

Indeed it was a 2016. My first and only WLW. I nursed it a long time and shared with friends along the way. He had a good run.

If I could find another, I'd probably buy it.  Just not distributed around these parts.  I may have to settle for a Four Roses Single Barrel as a replacement.  To my palate, it shares some similar characteristics to this.
