THIS is why I stopped at Binny’s today. The handles weren’t on sale, so I bought other stuff. 🤗

I just remember when a lot of us on here used to say that the old Baker's 7 yr "Small Batch" was not a good value at $45.

Well not me. I loved the old Small Batch and have not liked the change.

Man down, man up. FWIW, I don’t like the new MM 101 label near as much as I do the old. I just bought this new label bottle. It will be opened shortly. I have a couple of the old label bottles in the bunker. I will keep at least one around for sentimental reasons. Hey, MM was basically my gateway bourbon. FWIW,  I was at one of our get togethers in Bardstown with @Vosgar  when the new, domestic MM 101 was released in 375’s at the distillery. A shout out to @BourbonJoe and @fricky for buying a bottle for everyone to taste. After  @Vosgar and I had a taste, we immediately went to MM to grab a couple of bottles. 😎

Man down, man up, part #2. I had an empty handle of MM, so I decided to go ahead and make a batch of my HH BiB Blend. Most of what was left over went into the other bottle of my HH BIB Blend. I still have some Dant left as it was a liter bottle, but this too shall soon pass.  😉

I get that the new Baker's single barrel is kinda polarizing (I struggle with it myself, but for me I think it's probably due to a hangup I have in comparison to the old "Small Batch" bottle which I absolutely loved).

Curious, what bourbons do you purchase repeatedly at around $60 that are better?  Or maybe to be fair, maybe my question should be $40-60 that are better (since 40 was the old price that we loved)?  I can only think of a couple myself but I'm probably missing something.

Knob Creek SiB & 12yr, Rare Breed, Larceny BP, SAOS, JDSBBP are just a few at a similar price point as Baker's that I buy with some regularity and all of them are much better value than, IMO.

OK those are all good ones alright. 👍

I guess it depends on where you live.  Where I'm at KC12 and Larceny BP are rarities and are more expensive than Baker's (Baker's always on the shelf here).  I am a fan of JDSBBP too, but to me most of its appeal is the intensity of flavor due to its extremely high proof.  I could never drink JDSBBP on a regular basis without proofing it way down (where it doesn't shine nearly as much).

On vacation this week and knocked out this 375ml tonight (not all tonight….. just finished it tonight).

Wine glass was the best option in our cabin.

EC is still a good value for the money.

This week has gone by way too fast!
