Went back for two more bottles.  Yum, yum 😋.  This cask strength single barrel rye and the bottled in bond rye are my first taste of Wilderness Trail and I'm quite impressed.  The BiB is good, but the cask strength single barrel rye is superb.  I look forward to trying more of their offerings... the single barrel cask strength bourbon will most likely be next.

The ryes are the pick of the WTr litter. I've been a huge fan since they hit the market. The current distillate incorporates rye grain sourced outside of KY blended with the locally sourced KY rye they started with. Demand outpaced what the local farmer could provide so they were forced to look for additional sources. A few years ago the rye was miles ahead of both the bourbons, as they have continued to age that gap is starting to close. On my last trip to the distillery I found the wheated bourbon to be rounding into tasty territory and at some future point I plan to add one. They are a good group there and make top quality whiskey, they were just young and needed time to mature. The ryes have been one of my favorite whiskies ever since they hit 4yrs of age.

Thanks to some fellow SBrs outside of my 15mile area, there are apparently still Coopers Craft 100p bottles on shelves. I was in Johns creek and picked one up, I don't know if my locals will ever re-stock but I know where to find it now, just need to do a bit more driving.

Well,  @mbroo5880i posted this in another thread.  “like @fishnbowljoe I rarely pass by a liquor department.” We had a lot of running around to do today. We stopped at one place to pick up a couple of things, and of course I took a look see in the liquor department. What can I say? If anything, at least I’m consistent. 🤷🏻

I saw some Coopers Craft 100 proof today at one of my local stores.  Haven't tried it, but have heard good things.

@fishnbowljoe I was at Walmart today and passed on checking out the liquor aisle.  I wouldn't call it bourbon zen.  I just know what I know when shopping at Walmart. 😀

My son treated me for Father's Day with a day in Asbury Park,  where we walked the boards, ate fish and chips, and played pinball (the Silverball has 300 pinball machines, from woodrails to the latest from Jersey Jack.)

We also stopped by Asbury Park Distilling.  Last time we were here they were selling MGP juice double aged in gin barrels.   The new stuff is their own distillate,  with a rye (25%) mashbill, small batched with an "average age" of 5.3 years ( minimum of 4 years.

Faint cocoa and mucelage,  is how I'd describe it.   It follows an absolute honey barrel pour of Statesman,  so I'll need to give it a second chance to display it's charms.

Yes 1 liter.  The drawing that I picked up the W12 had all the high end stuff gone by the time my number was drawn. I had only ETL, Blanton's and the 750 & 1L sized Weller 12 bottles left to choose from.  For me it was an easy choice, it's the best drinker and an economy sized to boot.

And here I thought "got lucky" meant something else. (Haha.)

I got a  call from one of my regular LS that they got one in yesterday’s shipment.

Though technically a rye, likely be cross posted.

My contractor/handyman came by today to pick up a check for a reroof ( plywood and shingles) on my work shed.  I’m at a point in my life that roof work is not advisable.  He was picking up a decent check so I guess he decided to pay off his KY Derby bet.

Oh no, you may have just sparked a debate.

Is it "Doughnuts" or "Donuts"?

Hopefully this rhetorical question doesn't create the kind of controversy that "can chili have beans?" or "what's the best fastfood fried chicken?" does lol..

If the question is doughnuts or donuts the only answer is, yes!

I read "reroof" as "reproof."  😀

My triglycerides were slightly elevated on my recent physical.  My doctor suggested that I cut back on donuts and baked goods or bourbon.  The fact that she gave me an option is why I will keep her. 😀
