Holy poop!  Just realized that I'm down to the dregs of my LAST Collinsville OGD114 and the Hibiki decanter of GW4G is getting dangerously low from Summer consumption.  Road trip to The Lou in the near future???  😳

I see on the Elijah Craig website that C924 will have the same age stamement as B524, but just one proof point under it at 129 (B524 is ~130.0).

To Paraphrase the comedian "Fluffy,"  "And so it begins,...  The Hunt!"   I wish there was a site where I could determine how many bottles they;'ve released, so I can tell how tight the allocation and drop sequences are going to be.

One other thing.... I gather ECBP is something that will, most likely, be on the "allocated shelves" behind the counter, rather than be set upon the regular shelves, correct?  I've been looking carefully at all the "Bourbon Hunt" videos within the last 3 months or so, and the only things "on the regular shelves" are the EC Small batch, Toasted Barrel and some select barrel stuff. Haven't seen a Barrel Proof on the regular shelves in some time.

ECBP is not allocated any longer in most spots in TN, NC, SC.  I see it on the shelves regularly. Certain batches sit longer than others, but they are around…

ECBP is now being placed on the counter and within the regular bourbons in Indianapolis.  Demand seems to be waning.

I'll have to look harder then because I haven't seen it on the regular shelves in the videos I've been watching.  Only Small batch and toasted barrel.  And some of these videos are from 2-3 days ago.

I've come to the conclusion over the years - what and how much and the way they handle it (and charge) can vary a lot from state to state.  I once told a European, as far as liquor sales go in the U.S. - the states function like 50 foreign countries.

I actually blame the distributors/distribution network for most of it.  And, maybe, the distiller to an extent (i.e. how much of a given item they are they going to produce).    If I only knew how much is going to which state and then to which shops, etc., then I'd know better how to chase it. Then again, If I knew that, I'd be the envy of all bourbon hunters.  🤣

  • 3 months later...

Well, I got out yesterday and was able to do a little shopping. This was a main grocery's  Liquor store.  Sadly, no ECBP (they did have "toasted barrel" and "small batch")  and the BT they had was like $36.00 per bottle (all behind the counter).  Did not get anything,

I'll have to go out some more.
