It is 135 proof, he was correct. I am not good with tasting notes but it is really good. I don't regret taking a chance on this at all. 135 proof drinks hot? Go figure....
markandrex
Cut the grass (hopefully the last time), cleaned of some leaves, slit aerated the yard, spread about 120 lbs. of seed and replaced two low voltage led lights out front. Came in to a pour of Calumet 16 and headed to a shower. I went up to get cleaned up and came down to another pour. Turned on the Detroit-Buffalo game, WTH! It may be time for a third., before Yellowstone finale.
Skinsfan1311
Celebrating 9-5 with a healthy pour. Some of my fellow fans are whining that it wasn't a "quality" win, but our beloved Skins have wildly exceeded expectations this season and I'm enjoying the ride. HAIL!

I was in a bad mood after that. Was that TD called back correct, or a b.s. call. Talk about change of momentum. Sometimes, like this, I think the Colts are like the heel in pro wrestling. They can be ahead for a while, just to get the crowd all ginned up. MM and OF 100 helped - a little. I had thought, maybe we'd get to see the Colts in a wild card game, then that would be the end of their season.
markandrex
Wrapping presents for the past two hours. I decided that was enough for the day. I’m sitting down with some Hancock”s Reserve with the Vikings v Bears on in the background.

stevegoz
I've been intent on finishing this lovely bottle, one of the few I still have that was distilled in the previous century. Enjoyed several neat pours from it last night.
aquavite
Any luck in seeing ECBP's out there yet (i.e. C924)? Are there still B524s remaining? Haven't been able to get out there much, but I'll try.
Jazzhead
Tonight I'm experimenting with a blend of Ragged Branch BIB and Wild Turkey 101. I'm still getting the proportions right, but this is already a blend that is greater than the sum of its parts, the primary justification for blending in the first place. Haven't been able to get out there much, but I'll try. The C924s hit Indy back in October. I have occasionally seen a few bottles hit the shelves since then. The B524s seemed to lag on the shelves a little longer. Not sure why. I also have seen a few bottles hit the shelves even after the C924s were released. Distribution in Indiana is crazy. One of my regular stores typically has a few different releases of ECBP and Larceny BP set back for their semi-annual lotteries. However, they just had their December lottery and didn't have a single bottle of either. I have had a crazy two weeks at work but I am now on the wind down to the end of the year. Only 3 more days of work this year, tomorrow and then the next two Mondays. Enjoyed a nice pour of a gifted bottle of WR and now a nice pour of KC BouRye. I really like it.
markandrex
I’m having a pre-dinner pour of 1792 bib. It has been a long time since this bottle has seen the light, based on the dust layer. I need to get in there and dust the bar bottles but it is always like playing Tetris to put them back. We have our local neighborhood Christmas party here tomorrow so, maybe after the party when most have been pulled out anyway.

I love the reference to Tetris! I have the same issue - I can take the bottles off a shelf to replace one or two low-fill ones, and then be damned if I can get them all to fit back on the shelf. And, I had JUST seen (I thought) how they were all arranged to start with! Oh well, getting old and all that, I suppose. Thank goodness for bourbon! VWIndy
Decided it was a turkey ladder kind of night. The 13 was the best but not by much compared to the 10 yr old Camp Nelson. I am starting to grow feathers and join the flock as I age. Cheers

mbroo5880i
It's a cold Fri Rye day in Indiana. Enjoyed a nice pour of WR in my new WR glass in the WR gift set that a vendor gave me. I don't accept gifts from vendors. However, he knew that so he left it in my chair when I was out in the plant. Unlike the cookies and nuts that were gifted to me which I put out for all co-workers to enjoy, I had to bring the bottle home since we have a "no alcohol at work policy." That's my story and I am sticking to it. Followed up with a solid pour of KC BouRye while watching the IU-ND CFB game. While the game is sort of one-sided so far, it is stlll a watch. Otherwise, I would have to watch another Hallmark Christmas movie. I have mixed feelings on the BouRye. The Cheap Bastard in me doesn't like the price and feels like I could make my own blend at a lower cost. But, man, this stuff is really good. I believe the 113 proof is an important part of the enjoyment so I am not sure a blend of KCSiB 120 proof and KC7 Rye would be as cost-effective.

markandrex
We had our Christmas open house this evening with the neighborhood. My one neighbor brought one of his 1970-80 OGB bonded. I had several pours over the evening and was transported back to some wonderful times of OGD and my youth. I couldn’t bring myself to put anything else in my glass.
