Rum, Anyone?

After looking through at least a hundred thread titles for the proper one to place this post... and then giving up when I saw the ones I arrived at ...still without finding a rum forum, were so old (10-years +) they were all basically locked . . . I decided I'd either need to begin a rum thread or just not bother posting this.    I went with this new thread title.

Anyway, after that thread drift, here's my post.

During my continuing efforts to bring forward bottles that have/had been shunted to the very back of my storage closets, I opened a bottle I brought back from Hawaii about 14-years ago: MAUI Dark Rum, 80-proof, locally sourced ingredients, made by Haleakala Distillers.   It's a VERY Dark offering, for sure.   It reminds me of molasses-flavored vodka.   It's OK over a cube, or in something simple like rum/coke (I actually like rum/Dr. Pepper a little better, but whatever).   It tends to overpower most drinks that call for rum.    I bought a couple as 'souvenirs' (I overpaid, I'm sure: $22/each), and drank one up within a few weex/months, I guess.   I was actually surprised to find this one.   I had mentally crossed 'em both off.   WRONG!   Anyway, I'm happy to have found it, and will add this bottle to the rotation.

Whichever makes the most sense to you, Joe is fine by me.   I kinda assumed there must be something I missed.  Not unlikely, as you know, as hopeless as I am with anything electronic-communication related.   Thanx!
