bluesbassdad
You betcha, or at least they did while I still lived in California. It turns out that Arizona is another story.IIRC, there was a break-even point that involved sales tax, shipping cost and the price/weight ratio of the bourbon. Assuming a competitive price at Binny's of about $25 per bottle or above, it may be as economical to ship a case from Chicago as to buy locally. A case of bottom-shelf bourbon will cost more shipped in.Yours truly,Dave Morefield

I am glad to see someone else echoing my sentiments on PJ's Private Keep, I still have many a bourbon (and Rye) to try but as of now it's a standout in it's respective price category, and above IMHO. Virus_Of_Life
IIRC, there was a break-even point that involved sales tax, shipping cost and the price/weight ratio of the bourbon. Yeah I was doing the calculations on that exact aspect of it. Unless Bevmo or HiTimeWine was to throw the bourbon of interest on sale, Binny's even with shipping was still more than $2 a bottle cheaper assuming a case was purchased, more so if you consider the sales tax. BTW what does IIRC stand for? excuse my ignorance but I've seen it a few times and can't figure out it. I know I'll say DUH! when I find out! DrinkyBanjo
If I remember correctly? That is my guess at least. BTW, I just placed an order with Binnys. Besides good prices they have a lot of stuff I cannot get around here. One item of iterest, or two in my case, was Eagle Rare 101. They still have .375s in stock so I got 2. Virus_Of_Life
Thank you Ed and Tim, like I said, DUH! As for what's in my glass, it's Gin, LOL hahaha NO it's not gin, I hate it just a joke on another thread where I was expressing my ignorance. I started with a pour of WTRR 101, which the jury is still out on, but then I opened yet another bottle that I had been dying to since I bought it. Black Maple Hill 11yo 95proof, and after the first pour I definitely am not disappointed, this is a delectable surprise! Very soon I am going to have a lot of open bottles, but it is safe to say that Peter Jake’s and this BMH will not stay open long before they are empty! I am no expert, but I really like both of these, I think at the moment even more than VWSR 12yo and maybe (I need to get a new bottle) Pappy 15yo. I mean that, I just finished the glass and am sure if I do not have another of the BMH I’ll dream about it all night, this was a very reasonably priced pour on special at $35.99 plus tax and I just told my friend I know I like this better than WTKS and quite possibly better than IIRC Hirsch that I paid, oh, well heck let’s not talk money, this is good stuff! Sorry to do so much comparing of bourbons but I am really branching out lately with a lot of things that either I’ve had and am revisiting at this point or never had but wanted to so am opening now as is the case with BMH. I love good food, bourbon and everything that it brings to life!!
Virus_Of_Life
Wow! Now this was some transition, BMH 11yo to VWSR 12yo... to........ Wild Turkey Rye, this was my first taste of WT rye101 and obviously so very different than the other two I was sipping tonite, this is very good . I now see what you are all talking about with this WT rye, I like it every bit as much, quite likely more, than WT 101. Now if you'll excuse me I need to get to bed, I'm having trouble seeing and typing straight...
NorCalBoozer
plus you get the bonus of having it delievered to your house or work sometimes bevmo can come close when you get that 5% reward. I've ordered from all 3 and all 3 provided top notch service. FYI, if you are planning on buying the Eagle Rare 10 year from bevmo, they have the old 101 pictured on the site, but they will ship you the Single Barrel, they don't have the 101 in stock and the picture needs to be updated. That seems to be common among the mailorder houses, I was on the phone with the guys from Hi Time Wines, pointing out that their WTRR is incorrect. He was apologetic, but couldn't do anything to correct it. He wasn't a web guy.

ProofPositive
Having a first and second pour of ETL, current BOTM. So far, so very good. BT has produced another winner here....one that Mr. Lee should be proud to bear his name just as much as WTRR bears that of Mr. Russell. Good Stuff!!! camduncan
Last night, for a friends birthday bbq, we started with 2 or 3 good shots of Pappy Van Winkle 15yo. Shot 1 was straight, shot 2 was with water added and shot 3 was over ice. The overwhelming response amoungs a couple of bourbon drinkers who'd never tasted it before was that it reminded them of Bookers without the 'fire water' feeling. (Their terms, not mine) We then moved onto a very LARGE number of Jim Beam White and Cola pre-mix stubbies. Needless to say, I'm taking asprins quite heavilly this morning
BourbonJoe
Tonight I had a pour of Evan Williams "1783". This stuff never ceases to amaze me (quality vs. price). I just hope Heaven Hill doesn't screw with it the way they did with the Black Label.Joe
DrinkyBanjo
Right now, watching Hockey, sipping Wild Turkey 101, smoking a bowl of Dunhill Nightcap, and listening to Led Zepplin Physical Graffiti. It's gonna be a great night if the Rangers lose, the rest can't fail.
Randy_Ricchi
Shamefully, I was having a brandy and diet 7-up whilst reading this thread. When I got to the end of the thread I wanted to reply but first I needed to get something respectable in the glass - An Old Rip Van Winkle 10 yr, 107 proof, neat, as I always drink a good bourbon. This is a very nice pour, but I think I prefer (just a little bit) the Old Weller Antique 7 yr, 107 proof. The Old Weller is a little smoother, at least to my palate, so I taste more of the wonderful sweetness typical of a wheated bourbon. This is a great forum, but I hate the thought that my status relies on the number of my posts. I'm not much of a poster; more of a lurker. I'll be a novice for awhile, but I'm at least an intermediate as far as tasting experience goes. Cheers! Don't worry about the tag under your name as being your status. We all started the same way. Some of the people I hold in high regard here rarely post but find other ways to participate, such as in our weekly chats or those wonderful get-togethers called Kentucky Bourbon Fest. barturtle
I lurked here for a while before I bothered to even join and by that time I was so ready to post that the weekend wait for my registration to get approved was agony. The posts tricked in for a little while, then, after meeting many of these wonderfull people at the KBF is was like a landslide of posts. It was a long time even then before I started joining in for that chat sessions(which I'm still sporadic at). Each person gets what they want out of the site:some are quite happy lurking, some chat, some post. Now, back to the subject at hand; This evening I started with OGD 114, went to a vatting I'm working on, and am now drinking HH 10yo.
