darkluna
Today, Mr. UPS brought some 2006 Handy and Sazerac to my door. Hooray for the Internet & mail order, otherwise I would have never seen either of these bottlings.
plaidford
PVW 15/107 and an EWSB '94.Seems to be quite a supply of PVW 15/107 around, and a handful of PVW 20, but no 10 or 12 to be found around here - that seems odd to me. Is the 10 year and 12 year more rare than the 15 in general? I would have guessed the opposite.
bigtoys
Binny's in Skokie got me the Dickel Barrel Select-took about a week; Sam's kept saying they were getting it, but never came through. Thanks, Jeannie. Light traffic on Edens, so I was able to easily "speed" down there and back (listening to Howard Stern and First Wave on Sirius). Didn't last 5 minutes unopened once I got home. Oh, I'm off tomorrow:lol: !! Weekend starts NOW. Thought the troll in a barrel was appropriate.

CrispyCritter
Tonight, I picked up my backup bottle of '06 Stagg. Next will be the spare bottle of '06 ER17 to finish the second set. THEN I can start into my '06 BTAC stash.
Hillbilly
Please share your impressions of GDBS. It's one of very few premium American whiskies that are for sale in these parts.Yours truly,Dave MorefieldI know the question wasn't directed at me, but I'll give you my thoughts on GDBS.Wow, what a great whiskey!!! I've always been a big fan og GD 12 and couldn't help but pick up a bottle of GDBS when I saw it at my local ABC store last week. I was a little hesitant due to the $42.00 price tag, but took the plunge. Just a simply delicious, mellow poor with lots of honey, fruit, and rye. I'm trying to nurse this one and make it last as long as I can. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new bottle for Christmas. I strongly recommend this whiskey. gothbat
Today is a somewhat rare occasion, when I go to my friends’ house later he will be drinking bourbon with me. He’s normally drinks flavored martinis and beer so it looks like I have my work cut out for me. Assuming the store has it I’m going to go with a bottle of ORVW10 90 and possibly a small bottle of WT101, which he’s had before, for a wheat vs rye comparison. FlashPuppy
I picked up a Laguvlin 16 yesterday. I got it to take home when I meet my GF's parents. Her dad is a big scotch guy, so I wanted to get hmi something nice.I also grabbed a few VWFRR that were on a shelf somewhere.

He'll notice a big difference between that and the WT, both of which I love.Have a good night!
CrispyCritter
I completed my reserve set of '06 BTAC with an Eagle Rare 17... and now I'm starting in with a Stagg head-to-head-to-head of '06, Fall '05, and Spring '05 pours...
photogjunkie
Today was such a lucky day of bourbon hunting for me and I feel blessed. Found 2 bottles of Eagle Rare 101 10yo and, get this, 4 bottles of Old Commonwealth 107 10yo. The Old Commonwealth sure is tasty. Anyone know when this was released, because I know you can't get it easily anymore?

DrinkyBanjo
I think I know where there is a bottle of MM Gold Wax. Any impressions on this? Is it worth getting?
barturtle
Make sure it's not the VIP bottling-kinda an octagonal bottle, with a place for a personalized label-that stuff is the same as regular MM (a nice gift though for most people). The other one-the 101 he's referring to-should be quite nice.

scratchline
Old Forester Bonded. Quart bottle. Distilled 1970. Bottled 1976. Only old bottle in the joint. What's the story here? Talk about lost on the back of the shelf. -Mike

melting
Bookers - $36.99Bakers - $27.99Tyrconnell Irish - $15.99Glenmorangie Sherry Wood - $43.99 and worth it2 Wild Turkey - $15.49Girlfriend went home for the holiday so friends from the shop have been visiting regularly. Maybe a little too often from the hit that my supply has been taking. Also got my bill from American Express and it seems that the NH Liquor store charged me twice for the transaction. Now here's a problem. If I go back to the store, which is only a 20 minute drive, to recieve a credit how am I supposed to leave the store without buying any more product. I think it might have been a slick way to increase sales. Ha Ha get the customer to come into the store twice as much as usual.Funny also, the shop is closed from now, Tuesday untill next Monday for the break. We had vacation time so we've been off since Sunday. The guys, of which there are 4 besides me keep showing up with Bud and Coors Light. Most of it is still here and piling up. Must be just a token gesture, you know, don't show up empty handed. I guess I'll just use that for when I go visiting others.Sorry for the rambling but my internal clock still wakes me up at 3:30 a.m. even though there's no work. SingleBarrel
Chris,If you got Glenmorangie Sherry Wood (12 yr old) for $43.99, I'll say that's worth it! In these parts, all of the Glenmorangie 12 yr olds went up from the $57-$59 range to the $77-$79 range about a year ago or more. I miss it, because I could justify the purchase at $57, but just couldn't at $77. Enjoy a dram this Thanksgiving eve!Dave
