TNbourbon
I still have about a third of a bottle of the gold wax. Each time I open another of my dwindling supply of the gold foil, I compare the two. The difference is not mythical. Now the blue wax, which I've never had the good fortune to try, that's mythical. Yours truly,Dave MorefieldFunny thing, Dave -- I think it's the concept of 'taste memory' that is (or, at least, can be) mythical. I tried the Hirsch blue-wax side-by-side with the gold-foil along with Julian and Randy G. (rancastle) at the Gazebo in Bardstown last September, and we agreed the blue-wax is fuller and richer. However, when I sample that same blue-wax bottle today (it's almost gone), I find a very nice bourbon, but nothing all that exceptional.Which is the more valid verdict, I have no idea.
