Well, if I wanna feel like an "American" I can always say that I'm supporting American jobs and American Industry and American Heritage. I have no problem with giving the people who were willing to support these people through rough times when the distilleries would have otherwise been lost the credit they are due.

We can still bitch about closing Stitzel-Weller, though, right?

In that city named after a king of France?

Of course...malcontent is a perfectly American hobby.

Enjoying EC 18 and watching the Phils-Dodgers. Just a few more pours in the bottle, and I'll definitely buy another one as it's one of my favorites.

Just opened my first bottle of ETL. Very good stuff. Brings back some fond memories of the toffee my grandfather always had next to his chair.

I decided on a pour of Centennial this evening while filling out my timesheet for last week at work. Heck, it was a garden variety 58 hour week (not counting today).

While putting my my time for work, I thought I smelled something burning in the kitchen as I had a very strong wood smoke smell in the air. It took me a moment to realize that the culprit was the Centennial sitting nearby.

I've never gotten that strong of a smoky nose off of any pour before. It's almost a wet campfire log smell and it is wonderful.

Neither have I. Where is this bottle from?

It's a special bottling of Centennial for Premier Group in Buffalo, NY.

I'm having the first pour of a just opened Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

Not as good as Kentucky Spirit, IMHO but I like it a lot.

WTRB Batch No WT-03RB, neat.

I could get used to this, this bird is a little untamed but that's the way birds are.

McKenna SB poured on two cubes of ice glug glug in my big Jim Beam glass. This bourbon seems at its best slightly chilled and expresses the true spirit of Kentucky straight whiskey.

Bourbon De luxe 80 from the National Distillers days. Not too robust...which is just fine for a hot and humid summer afternoon.
