unclebunk
I've been on a Wild Turkey kick lately. Drank plenty of Rare Breed Saturday night while playing cards, followed by Kentucky Spirit last night while watching the Grammy Awards. Tonight I'll be having my first ever pour of Russell's Reserve 101 which I found on Friday afternoon--the only one I've ever seen and quite a nice looking bottle too. Man, that Kentucky Spirit was fantastic!

smokinjoe
Long day. Sitting in my hotel room, sippin' on an EWSB 96 that I picked up today. Not hitting the spot right now. Seems thin. I'll go get some dindin, and maybe it'll be better when I get back.
jlinden7
WT Kentucky Spirit. Haven't broken into in 4 or 5 months. It is just as fine as I remembered!

ACDetroit
2007 Stagg! I have to say I had some of this a week or two ago with a couple friends and all three of us were wowed! Tonight, I'm back to my old thoughts...the 2008 is much better! Not sure what the deal was, maybe just really good company!Tony
funknik
Old Grand-Dad BIB, neat.Whoa.Had a very enjoyable ORVW 10/107 followed by a puny, cognac-like 4RSmB (very fruity and floral). The ORVW is finally opening up to me now that the bottle is almost gone.:skep:I remain wishy washy with the 4RSmB....tonight, no good.

jlinden7
FR120 - For some reason the past few days I have had a strong desire to reach into some of my favorites. This is only my 3rd pour (albeit small) of FR120 since my acquisition last year and is still in my top 3. This could easily go head to head with any other barrel strength! unclebunk
George Dickel No. 12 and Michter's US*1 Small Batch Bourbon last night. To tell you the truth, both were "pleasant" but that's about it.

ILLfarmboy
ER 17 ('06) Every time I drink this I'm surprised that it isn't a lot woodier. The '06 is the only year I've had.
funknik
I've only had the ER17 '08 and it's pretty woody, but like you said, Brad, not as woody as one would expect.Tonight I had some EC12 followed by a little OCPR, then back to the EC12...I'm sorry but tonight the EC12 wins. ILLfarmboy
Andy, My experience with extra-aged bourbons and ryes is limited. I bought a couple bottles of the '05 Sazerac 18 in the winter of '05-'06 and then a few bottles of the '06 ER 17 the following winter. The Sazerac seemed to have stronger barrel tastes than the ER 17. More-so than the extra year in wood would seem to impart. That's why I was suprised by the ER 17. Incidently I bought those bottles of Eagle Rare 17 because, if I'm not mistaken, they were distilled in 1988, the year I graduated from High School. But I'm down to my last one........
