Hey Scott, i've read great things about the out of production OC12 90, do you rate it as well?

I see you have a Jefferson's Reserve 15yo open too, are you planning on buy ing the new release with the SW juice in it too?

:skep:

The OC is great, Jefferson's 15 is superb, and I have 2 of the JR 17yo on the way

Haha! Well maybe i should! I'm keen to try the Old Fitz i've got with you and Cam sometime - might be motivation enough for us to cement it in this time. Maybe we can meet halfway at Cam's place?

For me I have a record number of 17 open bottles right now.

I usally like to keep it at 6, a couple top and a few mid shelfs plus a mixer/rocks,

but I have these many open now cuz bottles are piling up on me and I've been wanting to try 'em.

OK, they are.

Oscar,

That's a nice cross section of bourbons you have there. I have more open now than I had 6 months ago....somewhere around 40+. The nice thing is my open bottles consist of bottles from most distilleries spanning a couple of decades.

I don't get any oldies around here or as they say "dusty bottles" but I do like to get today's fav's before they become dusties.

I have a few more that I want to open but I am going to thin this herd out first.

Man, I've sort of painted myself into a corner lately by only having open a lot of nice bottles that I don't want to finish off too quickly, but also bottles that I didn't end up not really caring for. Since I only have 10-12 bottles open at any given time, it's been a challenge to find a pour recently . . . here's what I've got:

EC12 (this bottle was funky and has been relegated to "cooking" status)

Dant BIB (I thought I would try this one again, but won't in the future)

Wathen's SB (this one's only ok, but I'll go to it without guilt)

Woodford's (ditto this)

Julio's SB BT (opened a 1.75 last week and have made a huge dent!)

Julio's OWA (which I have plenty more of, but always like to follow with . . .)

Lot 'B' (over $50 and I wanna save it)

WLW '09 (I'll go there, but not too often)

VSOF (S-W ghost whiskey)

Handy '09 (this bottle has been going too quick)

WT8yr (current, won't get it again until the in-laws visit CAN)

WTKS '07 (been loving this, truly I will cry when its gone)

VWFRR (I've been milking this one since May)

Anyway, the moral of the story is to keep more reliable everyday pours around, rather than experimenting so much . . . or get a bigger cabinet

I joined last January. That's when I started keeping a list of open and unopened whiskey. The list does not include vodka, rum, gin and liquers. I'm determined to finish a couple before getting into a Pappy or BTAC. A few entries get replacement bottles as soon as they're finished like Lot B, FRSB, Baby Saz and WTRB. Here's the "open" category:

1. RR 10yo/90

2. KC

3. WLWSR

4. VWSR Lot B

5. EC 12yo

6. WTRB

7. FRSB

8. OCPR (L’ville)

9. BT

10. MM

11. BH

12. Saz Rye

13. Bowmore 12yo

14. Highland Park 12yo
