Last night I started off with a pour of WT RR Rye taste like rye bread, then a dusty of Baker's from 93 as best I can tell ( the cork broke in half when I tried to open it). Tonight I'm starting off with WT 101 may revisit the RR rye I can't decide if I like it or hate it .

Having a small pour of Pappy 20 to celebrate finding new furniture for our dining room. A great bourbon. :yum: It's worth what I paid for it. Joe

Having a little Makers Mark this afternoon. It has been a year or more since I have had any... I still like it however now that I have broadened my horizons a bit, I find that I don't care for it as much as I once did.

I have tasted a wider variety of fine bourbons over the past year or so than I had previously tasted in all of my life.

Experience does make for a more interesting perspective.

Had a bit of 08 WLW when I woke up. I opened it yesterday and I was just too excited not to have some!

Had a small our each of OGD 114 and OWA 107 with a cigar and a good book. I don't get the cigar / bourbon combo though, the tobacco kills all of the flavor for me -- the OGD fared much better than the Weller, though. Here's to drinking with Swedes, Leif!

A Baby Saz and Barritts Ginger Beer. I very seldom mix, but had a hankerin' for this. It (Uh, make that they...) were terrific. :yum: But, I'll be going to Baby Saz all by it's lonesome, next.

Yes, ginger and rye is great.

A friend of mine found a stash of Old Fitzgerald Prime, 86 proof, bottled in 1994, so we have been enjoying that. An SB member told me how good they were, so he'll be getting a present soon.

FRSB Curtis/Hightower bottling. I can't seem to tear myself away from it.

Had a nice gathering of local bourbon drinkers today and had great weather. Enjoyed a table full of good libations of which I had:

ORVW 10/107

Prichards Double Barrel

Willett 16 year

Old St Nick 20 year

Spring began with WTKS, followed by a couple of EC12's! I'm really starting to enjoy the EC12 and I'm not sure why? I think its the finish that makes it so appealing...

Finished a bottle of WT101 last night with the help of some RR90.

a night of WT 101 and RR90 is a great night indeed, I enjoyed that pairing the other week. went very well.

today I enjoyed a small pour of ER 17 .. I swear this tastes like sweet tea. mm mmm

then a wee bit of some rittenhouse BIB... and I do mean small pours as I'm trying to cut back during the work nights.

I absolutely agree....tea with cream is my big note on the ER17.

Lot B, a double

Why do I let my job get to me ? If it weren't for my employees and the public I wouldn't mind so much...

I bought a house earlier this month, and I'm a middle-class, workaday government employee (teacher) -- so you know I'm being cheap while I buy hanging plants (3 today, plus a potted bush!), shelf liner, and a new refrigerator (Whirlpool -- water and ice in door, side-by-side, under retail, but still a LOT OF MONEY!).

All that said, I'm enjoying -- with store-brand diet ginger ale -- some green-label Evan Williams.

One of the tenets -- it think I've been around long enough, and have enough posts, to assay 'tenets' (Chuck, check me on this!) -- of SB.com is that 'good whiskey is good whiskey'.

Now, mind you, I have some Stagg, Stitzel-Weller, single-barrel (hand-selected, by me and others), and limited-edition bourbon in the house. But, green-label Evan Williams IS good, basic bourbon! I'm enjoying it well enough.

We can't always be exceptional, you know.

on EC12 as a nightcap with a few drops of water.

I think it's better this way......thought I would try the splash technique with this one.
