High West Rye, provided by a friend who picked it up in Salt Lake.

Very interesting stuff. I would love to explore it further if the opportunity presents itself.

I watched the Louisville Cardinals last night with SW Old Fitz (1985) and

finished the night watching a great game between Michigan State and Kansas with Colonel Lee.

Considering the big Michigan contingent on sb.com, I imagine there are more than a few Spartans fans on this website. I'm looking forward to a great game tomorrow and may the best team win!

Your'e right but it's kinda touchy, Michigan is split with a love/hate thing about Spartans and Wolverines.

I am a Big Ten fan in general, I root for Spartans, Wolverines and Buckeyes.

Lotsa people up here think I'm crazy.

Very Old Barton 100 BIB.

I picked up a bottle on a recommendation in the Gazebo Thurs. night(Jeff or Greg?). Paid $11.99. For the money, it is goood! I was very pleasantly surprised. As good as many bourbons that I have had at 3X the price. Unbelievable value.

It's a rainy, cloudy day so I've started a little early. ER 10/101. Good and good for you.

Blitz,

I'm glad you like it. I didn't want to steer you wrong since taste is subjective. I think it's a very good bourbon at a value price. If you can find any Ancient Ancient Age (AAA) 10 year, grab a bottle or two. You won't be disappointed.

How do you like it.

It's okay. It's relatively mellow. I taste a bit of wood and some floral notes. A little vanilla, too, I think.

Regular Four Roses. Man, considering this is only 80 proof, and I'm not picking up a whole lot on the nose, it really blossoms at mid-palate. And, it has a very nice and lasting finish. Not bad at all, for a $17 bourbon.

Even though the weather was on the nasty side today, I still braved the elements and did some outdoor grilling....chicken kabobs!

After dinner, enjoyed a couple of bourbons with the family:

OC12

'74 Old Fitz Prime

Julio's RHF #1

JW Dant BIB DSP113

'82 ER 10/101

I went out and got that bottle of Old Grand-Dad 114.

I had one neat, it took about an hour.

Sipping a little Eagle Rare 10 tonight...

Matter of fact, this is the first time I have ever had it.

I like... I like it a lot!

ORVW 15/107 with one cube...

Super nice that pour. I have one bottle and won't open until something special comes along.

Greg--

All the S-W juice you can get and that's the one you're saving??!! That's what the VOF and VXOF are for!

I'm anticipating (newsflash: celebrating) getting the Japan-only 90-proof (but older vintage) equivalent of same.

Now it's Maker's Mark gold wax, 101 proof, since Greg's got me spooked about finishing off the Old Rip...
