Finished a bottle of ERSB tonight. Joe

that makes two of us... and now all I have to drink are the things I don't want to drink. I think a bottle of 07 birthday bourbon will go next.....:o

Indy's post got me to wondering...It's obvious he didn't like the WRMC 4 Grain. I didn't care for it and I haven't really seen much good written about it. Is there anyone out there who actually liked this stuff?

I had to bid farewell last night to a bottle of Rare Breed and an older tax-stamped bottle of Rittenhouse Rye (80 proof but absolutely full of flavor). I need to thin out the herd, so I'll be killing a few more bottles (ETL, Michter's Bourbon, EC12 and an Early Times bottled in 1976) in the next few days before opening any new ones. That 30+ year old bottle of Early Times is light years better than the current product--very nice stuff.

That sounds great.

Was it an Owensboro or Bardstown? I've had really good Barton and Medley versions. When that Medley juice grew up it became Sazerac and VW rye and Barton rye is hopefully coming soon to an Antique Collection near you (I'm hoping for a Fleischmann's Barrel Proof Rye to stand beside the Handy).

I actually have two bottles of the older Rittenhouse--one sadly now empty. They say "Continental Distilling Co., Owensboro, KY" on them. If I'm interpreting this correctly, the number on the bottom of the bottle seems to indicate that it's from 1980. When I bought them they were sitting next to a bottle of JW Dant BIB dated 1989, and all three were $11, so I was happy about that.

Mmmm...

Medley Rye. The original Saz Jr., in a way.

Now I just need someone to dust off their bottle and bring it to the Gazebo. I'm sure that I'll find it on the sacrificial rail and not the actual table, but I would like to try it to satisfy my morbid curiosity.

Just finished off the last pour of my EC12. I really enjoyed every drop and will be picking up another bottle on my next shopping spree.

That can be arranged. Joe

Lost some really good bottles from my starting lineup the past few days. 08 BTAC ER 17, Lot B, WTRR 101, and ER 101. :frown: I'm sure glad I have backups. Joe

That list really hurts...I would probably cry if I had that many men down in a week! :( Although, I guess the bright side is you've had the privlage of having some great bourbon to drink! :)

They were and are great bourbons. The saving grace is in the fact that I have backups in the bunker. (Thank goodness)

Browsing through my stash when I got home from work today, I spotted another bottle with only one pour left. A 1989 Walker's Deluxe is now alongside the others in the recycle bin. :frown: Joe

Earlier this week I finished of a bottle of BT, and I also put the finishing touches on an early 90's handle of Old Forester BIB. Both good, both will be missed, but..... there are backups in the bunker. Joe

Yep, now all we need is a "Ending Vacation Support Group" thread... :[ But hey, that last pour of WC couldn't have come at a better time!
