Today I stumbled across two Old Crow Chessmen (Light Night and Dark Night), An 8yr 101 proof Turkey decanter, a '99 WTKS pewter top, and a Louisville Weller Centennial. <insert smiley>

All nice finds Skunk! Congrats!

Today the bourbon fairy came in with some SW OFBIB, some Centennial, and I picked up one Pappy 15. Today was a good day!

Yesterday I saw the new WT gift pack w/flask, which I bought along with a Ritt BiB because the prices seemed pretty good compared to what I've seen so far in these parts.

Yesterday I put a hurt on 2009 Four Roses Anniversary so I had to go shopping to stop me from slurping up the goodness. I'm mostly out of everyday drinkers and trying to stay away from the scarce stuff in the bunker so I set out today for a bottle of Ye Olde Grassy Knoll, otherwise known as Buffalo Trace.

I ended up walking out of the store with a bottle of BT and the last Wild Turkey American Spirit they had. I already pulled 3 out of there @ $60.00 and when I saw they had the last one marked down to $44 the nervosa took over and I grabbed that for the bunker. Pretty box, cant resist, hope I like it......

(thats for Scott).

Finally saw a couple of bottles of BTAC on the shelves here, picked up a GTS and a Handy. Enjoying the new Stagg right now as a matter of fact!

Christmas came early for me today. Got my shipment in of Eagle Rare 17 and Pappy 20. PA prices are great. 55 for ER17 and 89 for PVW20.

While making a bourbon run for a friend, I picked up a couple things for myself too. I purchased a bottle of Old Fitz BIB (current), and an Old Forester Repeal Set. Ho Ho Ho! Joe

Finally scored a couple bottles of this year's Handy. Couldn't wait until after dinner for a short pour, so I grabbed a Glencairn, swirled the requisite amount of time (wife watching, had to make it look like I wasn't desperate:cool: ) and I am loving this stuff. My first taste of any of the BTAC and I hit the jackpot.

No need to post notes I reckon, most of you guys are way ahead of me there, but I am blown away by this whiskey from start to finish.

Cheers!

I wasn't planning on buying anything for a while but I had to stop by the ABC store to see if the new Bowman's were in. My eye caught a bottle of AA 10 star and Don has been singing its praises lately as a bottom shelf wonder so I grabbed a bottle.

Today I stopped in a 21st Amendment to see what they had; I wanted to try something new. I would have loved to pick up one of the bottles of George T. Stagg, but really couldn’t pony up the $68 for the bottle, so I went with something different; I went with the Pure Kentucky XO for $28. It’ll probably be a couple of days before I get to open it, I got to finish one of the open bottles before I open this one. On second thought I will have to finish the bottle of Makers Mark when I get off work tonight.

You are going to wish you got the stagg... it might be twise the price, but you get almost twice the juice (by proof) and 4 times the quality...

I've always liked the PKXO. I have an unopened bottle right now. I might have to pop it and see what's inside soon.

Do you have any more info on what's inside, other than 107proof bourbon?

Yesterday I picked up a bottle of EWSB 2000, and then had an impromptu tasting at Amy's with Amy and her son, husband and my wife with the 2000, 1999, and 1997. The consensus was the 1997 was the best but the 2000 was great and showed a lot of promise for DSP 1 EWSBs.

After the tasting this past Monday at Bourbon's Bistro and reading all of the favorable reviews about OGD 114 I decided that this is a must have on the bar...picked up a bottle of that, a Binny's Weller 12, and the last Pappy 15 for the bunker!

Yah, I wished that when I saw it, however, I just can’t swing it. I had to pass on some Lot B the other day at a local store in Lafayette, for the same reason. In January or February, yes, right now, just too much for me to justify. The down side is that I don’t always see the good stuff, most of the time I have to make a special trip just to get to a liquor store that has something other than what I can get at Meijer’s. Although I did see Blanton’s at Meijer the other day. I’m still looking for someplace that carries the Weller 107. Now all that said, if I can find the next time I see the Stagg, and it’s not November or December, I will most defiantly jump on it, and I did have to stand there at the store for quite some time, and was almost late to work because of the indecision.

Thanks I’ll have to check them out next time I have some free time. I may try to get by there to pick up a 6pack at least. They look at you kind of odd if you just walk in to drool and then walkout. I won’t be in the Bourbon Purchas mode again till the first of the year…unless, I may be able to suing something…nah Christmas is coming up. I have asked for some Lot B for a stocking stuffer, maybe I can give directions to Indy with a hint of the Weller or Stagg.

I was actually at the store to pick up some good beer and some Myers Dark Rum for this years eggnog, when I spotted a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle 10 yr 107. This jumped off the shelf and into my arms. This is the first time I have seen here in Wisconsin. We usaully have the 90 proof stuff. This store has been a gas lately by hiding all the good stuff on the shelves. I found a GTS there last week behind Pure Kentucky XO and a BTAC Weller behind the Eagle Rare SB. Clever on their part. So back the ORVW 10/107 It is outstanding. I am going to have to get some more of it for the bunker. :drinking:

I went to a local liquor store last night and found WRMC Seasoned Oak on the shelf. A bottle followed me home for the holidays. Merry Christmas to me!

Saturday on the way to The Repeal Day Dinner in Louisville I stopped at The Party Source in Bellevue and the Springhurst Liquor Barn in Louisville.

I had a list for me and a couple of my SB.com Brothers out there.

Here's what I scored.

3 Wild Turkey Tradition 14 yo

3 Four Roses Mariage 2009

2 Four Roses Single Barrel gift packs

2 Evan Williams Single Barrel 2000 Vintage

1 George Dickel Cascade Hollow red label (to go along with my black label)

1 Very Old Barton 100 proof 1.75 liter

No Old Rip 23yo, I bumped into a BT rep at the Liquor Barn and asked him about it.

He said it will ship "next week".

Maybe we'll see it here in MI by 2011 at $1000.00 per bottle.
