nblair
^^^Well that is hard to follow up. It's even more difficult when the only thing I bought this weekend was some Old Overholt to drink outside. Although if you add a splash of ginger, you have yourself a delicious and inexpensive drink.

CorvallisCracker
We are thinking July, weekend after the 4th, or the weekend following that. So there is plenty of time to clear schedules. Gazebo style, grilling, the weather should be perfect.. perhaps some fishing also.
Halifax
Found a store that had 8 WLW SR. Bought them all. Once again our state ABC has decided to discontinue another fine bourbon. I guess I'm gonna have to buy me a blender and start getting use to these damned foo-foo drinks. Pretty soon that's all that will be for sale here. A bottle of EC12, 'cause I read it was better than VW Lot B.:grin:Now Dave, you can't believe everything you read.(1)1. Unlike seeing it on TV, where you can be sure it's true.(2)2. Unless it's FOX, where you can be sure it's false.(3)3. Unless it's the Simpsons, in which case you can be sure it's true.

nor02lei
There came a parcel from a very small Belgium online store this morning. It came 3 month and one day after my initial order. You have to be patient to order from small one-man online stores. It contained for myself: ETL 2*VWFRR-K 2*WT101 0,33 litre from early 90-is WRMCSO WT Sherry signature Stagg 2009 For Borlänge bourbon boys: Stagg 2009 ER 2009 WT 8 export For my lady partner Yvonne: ETL Sazerac junior Leif
CaptainQ
Very nice haul Leif! Pays to be patient, although there's no way I could have waited that long not thinking something had gone terribly wrong. Enjoy.
threejean
Just picked up a bottle of Old Weller Antique in GreenwichCT. Never tried it before (cant get it on Cape Cod). Verynice indeed, should have gotten a few more bottles!
Gillman
The Old Charter is known as a low-rye spec, and Joe's standings show that the highest rye one, EC 12, finished first. This shows that people generally preferred the bourbon with the highest rye content and if none, it finished behind these others. But I submit: it doesn't mean they decided the rye-recipe bourbons had a better taste, just a more impactful one. All wheat-recipe bourbon I've had (at least the modern productions, we're not talking dusties) are mild in flavor as compared to rye-recipe. I think people in the tasting were noticing the bigger flavors, which a blind tasting of that type tends to favor. It doesn't mean that consistently tasted, one would prefer EC 12 to Lot B.Gary
