Stumbled upon a Wild Turkey 12 yr Split Label today, while out. When I got in the car, the outside thermometer read 101. Coincidence?!?!? :skep:

Gotta love those coincidences. Joe

I did get a parcel from Belgium to my door his morning. In it were WLW 2009, Sazerac 2009 and Weller 12 addressed to Borlänge bourbon boys. For myself it contained 2 more Weller 12, pappy 15 and 9 + 13 years uncut and unfiltered HH bottled by Cadenheads.

In the afternoon I did fetch a parcel on my local post office from Germany. It did contain a 12-bottle mix of OGD 114, WT 8 export, WT 12 export, WT rye, fernet branca and green chartreuse for me lady partner Yvonne and my.

I was especially satisfied to get some new stock of OGD 114 as I did trade away my last bottle for a half commercial IPA beer tasting event a couple of weeks ago and have been drained out of it ever since.

This was one I was going to buy, but did not (yet): Corner Creek. We don't get that many bourbons in our market, and while I never really warmed to this one before, I noted that the labeling seems slightly different. Didn't the old one refer to using wheat, rye and corn, so a 4-grain, possibly by blending? (Or you could infer that?). The current label omits any reference to that even by implication. (Or did it always read like that?). Anyway I am trying to figure out if it tastes better than some years ago, and a comment on another thread was negative on the brand, so I will desist for now. But I might pick it up. Bourbons do change sometimes.

Randy (DoubleBlank) stopped over last night for a drink of Binny's Weller 12 and I had forgotten how much I liked it as I hadn't had a bottle open in a couple months. It got me thinking that I needed to see if any other Binny's had it still on the shelves. I remembered that the Orland Park Binny's had about 6 of them when I was there a couple months ago...I happened to be driving past there on the way home from Indiana today and to my surprise they still had 3 bottles...they now have none! :D Score 3 bottles of Binny's Weller 12 for me.

He was in Chicago for a couple days while on his way to Mid Ohio for the race this weekend! It's always good to share some bourbon, beer, nacho's, and conversation with Randy!

I just got this gem from Mr Postman.

Old Charter 7yo 80prf Louisville.

Probably from the '70's, I'm sipping some now, to bad it's 80 prf but it's good, has the classic sweet corn Old Charter taste and syrup finish.

I bought it because I want to re-use the decantner and I get some very good OC also.

Um no. I was delivering cases of beer to my beloved retailer friends.

Did you see me on-line then?

It wasn't me, our daughter is over for a couple of days maybe she looked in here with my ID.

Nothing special. Just picked up another bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel 2000. Cracked it open last night and had a pour while watching the Sox.

Well the whiskey gods shined a little light on me today. Was inspecting a job site about an hour away. Saw an ABC store in a little town. No dusties, but I did manage to snag 6 bottles of Bernheim Original. Clearance priced at $19.95! Sweet...

wow, great price!

In Michigan it just went down by $10 but it's still nowhere near $19.95. I may just have to pick up a bottle myself soon.

Today I made a run to a local liquor store and picked up:

Fighting Cock

Corsair Red Absinthe

Southern Belle Shiraz

2 Bottles of Party Source Willet 3 y/o

OK, so maybe it wasn't too local.

Actually the OT is from my hunting but the OGD may be one you shared. Suddenly I have a bunch of those OT from the early 90s.

I reckon! I also purchased a few from the US and Aust Customs sent me a letter explaining how ALL postal consignments will be assessed as dutiable imports now. There is no longer a gift concession for any goods. :smiley_acbt:
