Also in honor of Julian's birthday, I ended up having some Lawrenceburg ORVW 90 and Lot B at chez bonneamie with the wife and Mr. bonneamie.

After dining on some brisket cooked in my home made smoker, we watched the movie Sideways, which got me thinking.

Lot B is the whiskey version of Pinot Noir for me. I've tried and tried and tried but I still just don't get it. It's good and all, but I just find it dull. Maybe I need to drink some more.

I traveled west across the Cuyahoga river this afternoon to visit DeanSheen and some carpetbagger from Napoleon, Mi who was in town.

We sampled WTRR101, WTKS 04, WT 8/101, Binny's FRSB OBSK, '09 Handy, MM46, BTEC twice barreled, Old Charter 80 and some 2009 Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia as a palate cleanser.

In enjoyed the tribute to Julian's birthday yesterday. But tonight I cracked open my first bottle of the new MM stuff. A very nice sip out on the back deck with cicadas buzzing and fireflies flitting around.

funny, it hit me that way too last night. I thought I had just added too much water.

Last night I had some Lot B, Pappy 20, and Pappy 15, all in honor of Julian's birthday, and I gotta say that all of them never tasted better.

Thanks, Julian, for all the great whiskey!

One, two, three neat pours of Benchmark Single Barrel. Fabulous. This is a dusty that can still be found in the $25 range. If you see it...buy it!!!

I might just do that. It's the eagle rare mashbill, right? but what's IT taste like?

Hot fun in the summertime! We made it although it's felt like summer for quite a while now.

While dialing up "Hot Fun in The Summertime" by Sly and The Family Stone on my IPod...sipped on some 4RSB.

I was just listening to "If you want me to stay" and sipping some ORVW 107. The music and the Bourbon go down well together.

I got a bottle a while ago. It's has gone down a lot faster than I expected. It reminds me a bit of Stagg actually. If you close your eyes and wish real hard, the Bourbon fairy may send a sample your way.

Yep, that's me.

Don't bother trying to buy anymore Jim Beam white label in C-Town cuz I bagged them all!

Had some Weller Cent, 4R120th, and 4RYellow last night on the porch while basking in the glow of a 3rd straight Tribe victory over that team up North.

Bourbon, Baseball, and summer go great together. Now if only I could enjoy the Tribe in the fall again, but that's what bourbon is for!

After a long day hosting a family event (50 or so people), I was ready for them to go and let me sit and unwind with a dram or two. EWSB from 1996 and WSR from 1988.

I made one of my favorite Manhattans: 3 parts Old Charter 10, 1 part WT 101 Old No. 8, 1 part M & R Vermouth plus generous dashes of Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters with cherry garnish. After cleaning the palate with dinner, got down to the serious business of tasting the Maker's 46, which is spicy delicious.
