What bourbon did you purchase today? Summer 2010

i picked a bottle of Noah's Mill. ive never come across that before, so ill give it a whirl tonight. i also went ahead and grabbed OF Birthday Bourbon 2009. i read good things about the 2007, so we will see how this is.

Not too bad, but not great either.

Went to the store last night.

PVW15 - 1 bottle, only one at the store. Bunkered for now.

ORVW 10yr 107 - Opened this one up. Pretty good. For 5 bucks less I think the WL Weller 12 year is better.

Picked up an odd one in CA last week end. It is a Willett 17 yr, bottle 15 or 24 and it is 112 proof. Interesting taste in a very good way. I think I know where it was distilled, but do not really care beyond the fact I like it.

Low oak for 17 yr. No burn at the 112 proof. Lots of roaming flavors like brown sugar, earth, and foliage... I like it. At ~$150 with tax its a bit pricey, but when you are talking 24 bottle only I had to take the shot. Yummy.

Ran out and got a bottle of BT and 4RsmB as I was out of everyday pours.

The store I went to got in a new case of 4RsmB and this case is a little different than the last. The easiest way to describe this batch is creamy. It is extremely smooth, very well integrated and drinks like a fine dessert aperitif.

Dunno. I gave the bottle to my brother in law last night but I'll be going back to get some more this week and I'll let you know.

OGD 114 1981 bought from German e-bay. I did get it on a very low bid, as it is about 6-7 cl erupted. I don’t know how much this will effect the taste. I have noticed that this is a very common problem with these old 114 bottles.

Last night got the Makers 96 as they were putting it on the shelf.

Warms nicely on the palate but then finishes with a bit too much oak for my taste. Think I'll stick to my Weller's and Pappy's

Saturday picked up a MM 46 and a Pappy 20.

Today I took a little road trip and snagged 4 Lot B and a Bookers for me and a pair of FR yellow label for a fellow SB'er.

While running my wife's cousin North of us a good ways, I noticed a store I had not seen before. You know the rules! New store, you have to at least take a peek. Sure enough they had a Weller Centennial and a little old WT split 12. Not a bad find for the 4th of July!

Picked up a bottle of EC12 and JBB. Just had a taste of EC12 and it is pretty tasty. The nose (no sure how to describe it) is the best of my modest collection. I will try the JBB tomorrow.

(6) 1.75ml bottle of OC8 @ $17.95 each. When that state runs them on sale I load up. This makes for a great bourbon & ginger on a hot summer day. A little lime, and you're good to go.
