Well, I've exhausted the local sources looking for the McKenna 10 yr old. When I get some time Sunday guess I'll mosey over the State line.

Kind of tough to find online too. Odd since one of my local shops stocks it fairly regularly, but they haven't had any for for more than a month according to the clerk.

The Party Source has it. You'll have to check to see if they ship to IL.

5 WT 8yr/101 decanters from 78,79,80,81,and 82! Either this juice is older then 8yrs or my eyes are deceiving me as it's really dark! Tasted the 78, 79, and 82 juice and I'm happy to report that they're all good! :D

Thanks Em...after tasting these I completely understand why you're a WT 8/101 whore now...it's some of the best juice I've tasted.

Made a liquor run for the family and saw 2 bottles of GTS sitting on the shelf. They came home with me. Also saw OWA 7/107 from '06 that came home with me too.

While I didn't purchase them, Santa brought me a couple of very nice bottles. '10 PHC, and early 70's AA 86 pf and Cream of Kentucky. They're currently nestled in the bunker.

Just bought 2 bottles of Pappy Van Winkle 20 from a PA "State Store" near me. $90 each. I'm assuming this is still Stitzel-Weller bourbon?

Could be Ethan but I'll pass. For that amount of money I could get a case of Evan Williams BIB and enough left over for a bottle of something else such as 10yr Old Charter.

Thanks to the tip off on the Party Source I ordered....

1 GTS

1 THOMAS H. HANDY RYE

1 OLD RIP VAN WINKLE 10 YEAR 107 PROOF

All were restricted to 1 bottle each, good thing cause it could have gotten expensive

Stopped for gas and saw a small local liquor store that I had never visited. Surprisingly, that had a load of Van Winkle on the shelves! A couple of PVW 15 and ORVW 10/107 went home to the bunker.

I grabbed a handle of Evan Williams black 7/90 for $17 out the door. I've never had age stated EWB and am looking forward to trying it. The bottle has a 92 so it's from the old distillery at Bardstown.

Snagged a bottle of Ezra Brooks single barrel 12 year. Been eye balling this stuff everyone I go to the store but have always passed. Pretty tasty stuff.

David Nicholson 1843 BiB. Allegedly DSP-KY-16, but as several of the threads on here lead me to believe, this is mislabeled. The bottle looks pretty current (having a web address and all), and lists Old Fitz as the distiller. Figured it was worth a try for $15. Found in Kentucky--and pretty far from the bit that touches the Mississippi.

I bought an Eagle Rare with a sticker on it that says "Specially Selected & Bottled for the Citizens of Wake County". I guess someone from the local ABC board spent some tax money and went to Frankfort to pick us out something special...:skep:

Besides the bottle of PVW 15 and ORVW 10/107, my trip to Michigan netted me bottles of:

  • EWSB Vintage 1994
  • Lot B
  • Henry McKenna 10yo BIB
  • 2 bottles of Rebel Yell I foolishly though were SW. Oh well, they'll make fine mixers.

I also received a 375 of Buffalo Trace from a friend.

Picked up a bottle of ORVW 10/107 for $24 (unfortunately the store's last) and a 2010 WLW at $65. I only wish there was more of the ORVW on the shelves.
