smokinjoe
WTRR 101. Pour this one. Swirl a few times. Let sit for a minute, or two. And, then drink one of the finest whiskies that you will ever have. Turkeys in general, and this one, in particular, seem to be a lot of "parts" that come out of the bottle in a mad scramble. And, it takes these parts a few minutes to get arranged in order, in the glass, to form a complex flavor Bomb. The synergy in some WT whiskies may be better than those from any other bourbon distillery. That said, the current regular WT 101 expression doesn't give this to me. It never melds together, IMO. But, others from the family, like the WTRR 101, most definitely do. I couldn't say that WT whiskies are at the top of my list, but when one of them is "right", it's just about perfect. PAspirit1
Four Roses 80 again. I like this enough to consider forgoing my planned next purchase of Old Rip 107 for one of the higher proof FR's. There is something very pleasant about it. I also had some EWSB 2000 - also very good.
T Comp
Reached into the back of one of my boxes of open bottles and pulled out a Wathen's bottled in 08 with about 4 ounces left. Only 2 now. Great nose and opening, great rye zing, subtle wood influence and a tad light on the finish. I'm thinking EC 12 if it was EC 8.

nor02lei
I had WT 101 from 1985 both before dinner and with the soft chocolate/coffee cake for dessert. Than later I did pop Emerald and Reid’s 139,5 proof 17 wheater. Men, that was some stuff. Good already from the first pour. Bunches of butterscotch and coco and about the chewiest I have ever had. PAspirit1
I bought a mini of Evan Williams Honey Reserve and I didn't care for the taste neat the other day - Seemed like honey vodka. But tonight I mixed in about an ounce of it with some chamomile tea and it was very good.
T Comp
Haven't had a WTRB open for a few months so I brought out a W-T-02-95 from the bunker box. I successfully dug out the snapped and crumbled cork leaving only one piece drunkenly floating on the top. After an outstanding first 15 ml, I had to prove once again, that for me WT never takes well, to even a few drops of water. So I diluted the remaining 30 ml from 109 proof to 100 proof and on cue the alcohol, heat and bitterness took over all the delicious caramel, honey, vanilla and other flavors. Of course another pour at bottle proof in now needed  .
cgbakerjr
Finished off a bottle of ORVW 10/90. Not as nice as the 10/107 but I'll take it when the other is not available.
hectic1
A pour of ORVW 15/107 to start the night...man I don't know that a better pour has passed my lips. I followed that up with a OWA NAS private bottling done by Kenwood Liquors. While it's not a fair fight against the ORVW 15 for the $17.99 a bottle that the were asking it's one heck of a deal...I'll probably grab another bottle or two next time I'm in the area. flintlock
Drinking a bottle which is 1/2 AAA 10 star and 1/2 NAS OWA 107. The OWA was my first bottle of the new, plastic label, NAS, and I thought it not good at all, nothing like the 7 year age stated stuff I've enjoyed. The AAA 10 star is too sweet, like liquid cookie dough. Rather than stare at the bottles and hope they'll evaporate, I decided to roll the dice and vat them. Together it's a super bourbon that I'm having too much fun sipping. Complex, well balanced, long on the palate, long finish...really good. I'll be making more of this, and it's got me interested in the possibilities of vatting several of the bottom shelfers which are often one dimensional or too much of a certain flavor aspect. If a pic of a woman with a flat ass gets ya goin, more power to you Paul. That girl needs a sandwich and a daily squat routine. Regardless, the oversized photos screw up the text formatting in my browser, so thank goodness for the ad block plugin on Firefox. There are plenty of other places to gawk at T and A on the web.
