stevegoz
Last night after dinner I picked up a bottle each of ORVW 10-107 and a WL Weller 12 as backups to two of the bottles that I've been enjoying the most recently. And since the wife was with me, I got to hint at a bottle or two that I wouldn't mind getting for my birthday in a month and a half (Blanton's to her is now "the horsie-top bottle"). AaronWF
Couldn't find any OWA (never tried it) so I picked up my trusted W.L. Weller 12 year. An early fave, I went for awhile without it. Kicked a bottle of it a few weeks ago and just can't stand my cabinet without one. Also picked up my 2nd bottle of Caribou Crossing. It's a single barrel Canadian bottled by Sazerac. I drank a bottle of it last year and found it quite delicious; sweet in a spongy way, like a marshmallow, and no hint of cloying. I'm sensitive about sweet whiskey (Chivas and Crown Royal make me sick as a dog), but I really enjoyed Caribou. I noticed a bottle of Pappy20 I had had my eye on had been taken away so I decided to buy the Caribou before it was too late.

Enoch
Have to make a tough decision. Bought 4 bottles of pappy 15 last week. The liquor store called and said they had my four bottles requested set aside for me to pick up today. I guess they didn't throw away the request form. SO should I get them. $54 each includes tax. On the one side I am afraid this will be the last of the pappy 15 but on the other I have to face my wife. Hmmm...

Asked why the others were cheaper she said they originally put them in at the Lot B price but caught their their mistake. They still have about 6 bottles left. Four 20 year and one 23 year. Then you mail a picture of yourself with a handful of cash to the store that sold them to you. DUH!

soad
I ended up in a great liquor store in Rochester, NY this week. I walked out the proud owner of a Russell Reserve 10 year, an OWA with the 7 year age statement from a private bottling from the store, and the highlight, a bottle of RittBIB, the first time I have ever see on on the shelf. Of course now when I get home I see that the RR's cork has broken off and I can smell bourbon in my suitcase :hot: Guess I should have been more careful....
