I picked up an old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2006. Oddly enough this is my first Old Forester *not from* dsp 414.

(BTW, I am going to pretend to ignore Bob's haul...that is just nuts.)

Finally found a Weller Centennial (Frankfort). Got it for the original price, $27.

Same place had a pint of ER 101 (NOLA) for $25. When I mentioned that the price was high, the guy said it was because it was old, 10-11 years. I passed, of course, put it back, and got my Weller quick.

Got 2 very appreciated bottles of VWFRR in the mail yesterday from a fellow SBer. A big thanks to him, he knows who he is.

Had to pick up another bottle of Tullamore Dew for the wife. While at the store I also picked up two Wild Turkey 101 new label for me.

BT single barrel Khan's Fine Wines private selection. The flavor profile is closer to the Weller line than regular BT, which is interesting given the wheat/rye difference in the two. I think standard BT is a very good bourbon, but I tend to prefer their Wellers.

You and me both, Brian....

I do find that the Kahn's selections vary greatly. I've had a couple that were really good, but I've had a few that were really bad. I do not know how they pick their barrels, but but I am not sold that all of there selections will be good. (unlike Party Source... where I am confident that everything they do will be better than the standard release...Thanks, Jay !!!!)

This is my first experience with Kahn's selections and, fortunately, it was a very good one. What other selections have they done?

Likely the most frustrating hunting trip yet. 3 stores out of I can't tell you how many had something.

Not bad for 30$ out the door each though.

Thanks, Scott! I'll have to keep my eye out for some more of their selections. I talked to the manager at United Fine Wines and Spirits in Geist a while back and he said they were considering a FR private selection. Do you know of any other locals that have picked their own barrels?
