Well everybody's always talking about their bunkers around here..

and I never said some cash couldn't be part of the swap too!

Hey I'm not knocking you...if you can get someone to part with a ORVW 15/107 for a Pappy 20 more power to you. Pappy 20's are pretty easy to come by where ORVW 15's aren't...so why would someone want to trade a very hard to find bottle for one that they can currently find on the shelf? :skep:

I would venture to guess people with stashes of ORVW 15's aren't looking to trade them for $$$...they're going to be looking to get other hard to find bottles in return...at least that has been my experience when trading bottles like the ones you listed. Good luck with your search!

Yeah I guess I was hoping a couple people that like oak would take a more-aged $120 bottle for something they paid a lot less for that is less-aged. Since I'm pretty new to this I don't have much that's hard to find (unless somebody wants some rare tequila). I doubt I'll find an ORVW 15, but maybe hopeful for an old Pappy 15 or ORVW 10/107?

What someone paid for a bottle rarely comes into the equation when looking to trade based on my experience. ORVW 15/107, Pappy 15, and Lawrenceburg ORVW 10/107 are all better whiskey IMO then Pappy 20. When I trade with people it's about getting bourbon that I want to try or really enjoy and trade value is typically different the purchase price. ;)

not to mention that Pappy 20 is at 90 proof. It loses points for that.

In a better world I would have more Elludium to trade for Unobtanium.

Is that the 90 proof Unobtanium or the 107 proof?

South Carolina may not be getting any VWFRR. Everything else is in and one the shelves. but RNDC did not get any rye in their shipment. They are not sure why or if it will come in later.

Very scarce in western TN. Any stores that got it only received a single bottle. I got on couple of lists early on and managed to snag some but not what I had hoped. I guess the allocation became a super allocation this time around.

Happily just scored another 2 bottles of VWFRR today... Both are "B" series.

Up to 6 in total on-hand. I'm starting to breath a little easier now that I've got some good stock in the bunker! Add to that my 4 Saz 18's and 3 Vintage Rye 21's and I'm in good shape for the looming apocalypse (whenever it arrives)!

Question is, when the zombies take over, how will you carry all that damn whiskey around while on the run?

I won't run...too much in the bunker. I'll board up the windows and spend the last days drinking it dry.

P.S. - I thought I had a PVW15 waiting for me today and when I popped into said liquor store, paid for the bottle and they returned to give it to me, all they had was some bad news...

Uhh....I think we sold it to someone else.

Now I see the importance of the bunker.

That is why only the high proof stuff should be bunkered. The Kentucky Molotov Cocktail.

.

I can just see how this went down.

Customer, "do you have the Pappy 15 in stock?"

Liquor store clerk, "were you ye one that put in on hold?l

Customer, "um sure, yeah yeah that was me."

No worries, Karma is a bitch. They will get theirs.

The PVW15 seems to be nonexistent in MI this Fall. Everyone store that I spoke with got shut out. This sucks!

Buy Weller 12 and OWA, mix 1 part OWA & 2 parts W12, sprinkle some sawdust and you'll be pretty close, just off a bit on proof...

I should have gotten a handle of it when I had the chance! All I have is a 750ml bottle of it. It's sad that it's so hard to find here in KENTUCKY.
