T Comp
Van Winkle bourbon 10 years old, bottled last year apparently.A creamy, soft, very flavorful bourbon, as good as it gets.Never mind old S-W, this is as good or better.Whence the origin, boyz? Would it be UDV make from before the sale of Bernheim to HH in '99? I forget some of this history now, but is that it?Gary
jfw
In honor of the season (and a good excuse to open some bottles), I sampled the new PVW 15, GTS 2011 and FR LE 2011.

awachatz
Tonight I am enjoying some 2011 George T Stagg. I typically drink it neat, but added some water today to see how it would impact the experience. No surprise, it is great both ways.

smokinjoe
Got a recipe for a Vieux Carre from the December "Southern Living" magazine. I used Baby Saz for the rye. Trying one now, while we put up the Christmas Tree. I'm not much of a mixed cocktail guy, but this ain't bad. Kinda Manhattanish. The Cognac in it comes through nicely. I will cut back on the sweet vermouth (Vya) next time, though.
White Dog
OFBB 2010. I like it more and more as it's been opened for 6 months. Looking forward to finding some 2011 for comparison.

smokinjoe
Very Old Barton BIB. Nobody believes me when I tell them that it really isn't that bad for the price. It's better than that. It's a terrific bourbon at any price! I love it. Keep fighting the good fight with those non-believers, C. :toast:
G.H.Adams
I'll second you guys reference to VOB BIB as it is a great bourbon regardless of price. This evening I am having a three finger pour of Abraham Bowman Bourbon barrel 5. mosugoji64
CNB private selection OWA, and it's just not hitting me right tonight. It's tasting very woody and astringent, and that's not like OWA at all. It's probably just an off night. :frown:

OscarV
The thread question asks "enjoying".I'm sipping it but I ain't enjoying it.It's a bottle of 4R OBSV barrel strength selected by The Party Source of Bellvue, KY.This crap blows.Very hot and thin, no redeeming qualities, well it is 108.2 proof so it would be good to guzzel and party like a frat boy I suppose.I have been warned before about special selections from The Party Source but I was weak and I rolled the dice and crapped out. fishnbowljoe
Ho hum. Back to work. At least it was a good day for a Monday, and after having four days off. Having a healthy pour of Binny's Weller 12. Joe
Flyfish
It's better than that. It's a terrific bourbon at any price! I love it. Keep fighting the good fight with those non-believers, C. :toast: Add two more to the list of VOB BIB lovers. My wife and I make a special point of hitting the Liquor Barn in Lexington and The Party Source in Bellevue for handles. "Not that bad" is a gross understatement of its virtues.
