Not, unfortunately, enjoying this 6yo Willett. It's like someone soaked Corn Nuts in Woodford Reserve. Oh well...

I had better luck with a 10 year Willetts from Toddys/Liquor World which only yielded 48 bottles from the barrel. One of my favorite bourbons I've had this year. It reminds me a little of the PHC wheater with a rich Greek honey poured over baklava flavor floating throughout it.

ORVW10/107 as a substitute for champagne at brunch. Hoo-boy, what a good match!

Last night had a Party Source 8 year Willett, barrel 374. It took me 2/3 of the bottle to understand it, that it's a great marriage of dark red fruit and yummy, husky rye. Figured it out a month after TPS sold out of them...

BT barrel #97 Sendik's selection. Pretty good. Same proof, but prefer it over regular BT, as it has a bit more spiciness and richness.

Regular WR. It hasn't changed in recent years, perhaps a tad more older-tasting. I use it in my blending experiments where the pot-still notes (the aromatics redolent of oils or cleansing products, as I perceive them) contribute depth and complexity to minglings of bourbon from different sources.

PVW 20...I go through one a year and it was time to open another tonight. Still can be found for under $90 here (not counting 8% to 12% tax depending what county) and I certainly wish it was higher proof but still an elegant great whiskey with classic DSP 16 profile throughout!

After a couple of big nights recently, winding down for a few days. Tonight was a pair of young Willetts... one an 8yo that was pretty good, one a 5 yo which had every aspect of Woodford in its profile that I don't like (the oily, coppery notes, the heavy banana and marzipan, slight pine, and nothing to balance it).

Tomorrow, comparing the '09, '10, and '11 Wellers head to head, then giving the ol' liver a break for a couple weeks and to get the palate up and excited for the December bottles.

A retailer told me that the 2011 OFBB wasn't going to hit the shelves in MI until they sell out the previous years stock that is in the MI warehouse.

I was mistaken upthread and it has made it to Illinois (OFBB '11) and $36.99 at the, not a Binny's store, I was at today. Plenty on the shelf so I passed for now as these don't move very quickly here either. I also have half of a 1.75 of DSP 414 BIB to still get through :grin: .

Just cracked open another bottle of Knob Creek Single Barrel 120. At $35, I absolutely love this stuff.

As for not enjoying... Wild Turkey Rare Breed... This is like swamp water. Ughhh.
