smokinjoe
Mrssmokinjoe always likes to put up our Dept. 56 Dicken's Village before we host Thanksgiving. So, I'm giving her moral support (big table, electric choo-choo train, 40 houses, people etc. = big job) while sipping on a Handy and Vernor's Ginger Ale with a splash of Regan's Orange Bitters. Keep up the good work, hon. Tell me when I can sprinkle the snow!

smokinjoe
I'm not what you would call a big NASCAR fan, but I do follow it from a distance. And, I do have "my guy" that I root for. And, that guy just won the Title with his win at Homestead. Toasting Tony Stewart and the 14 Car, with a pour of OGD 114.:toast:

M14Shooter
EC-18 Barreled in 1989 Lots of barrel goodies.Great balance ,nice oak elements but not too much char. This is the best bottle of EC-18 I have tried.:bowdown:Will have to pick some more of this even though I have quite a bit of EC-18 barreled in 1990,1991and 1992.Regards,Mike

HRay
After noticing a large number of posts in this thread indicating the drinking of Old Grand Dad 114, I decided to bring out my long opened bottle of this bourbon. After not having it for some time, when I tasted it this time I immediately tasted the relationship to Basil Hayden that I had not picked up before. Since all three share the same high rye mashbill, is the OGD 114 just Basil Hayden that is not cut to 80 proof? It doesn't really taste as much like a higher proof regular Old Grand Dad as it does a higher proof Basil Hayden. I guess it really shows how much barrel selection can affect taste.Meanwhile, I've finished off this dusty old bottle of Old Grand Dad 114 and I am glad I have another one to open! Clavius
About to kill off one of my two bottles of this year's William Larue Weller. This stuff is amazing. While I'm sad to see one bottle gone I'm glad I have another bunkered. Still, I wish I had more. Must...resist...that auction site!
HRay
After finishing off the tail end of a bottle of OGD114, I decided to have some Johnny Drum Private Stock from a bottle I got when I was at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival last year. I bought it in Bardstown because I had never seen it here in Atlanta. It is now available here (along with my very well liked Pure Kentucky) so I feel safe in finally finishing it off. Unfortunately, I had to miss the KBF this year but I am planning to go back next year. I especially missed going to the Gazebo and getting to talk to everyone there! Brisko
Had a glass of regular Knob Creek while out at a restaurant last night. It was pretty flat and unfortunately it was the best part of the whole experience.... When I got home I had a splash of Jack single barrel from a mini that I picked up the other day. Pretty good, but not worth whatever they're selling it for... $48 in Minneapolis, it looks like. Yikes! For what it's worth I prefer Dickel #12 and it's a lot cheaper too.
