What Bourbon did you purchase today? - Fall 2011

Low on everyday, so I picked up OGD114, Weller Antique, and WT101. Also grabbed a WTRB.

I actually toyed with this one today but passed it up in favor of a liter of OGD BiB for $19. I like the 114 but this is very similar, and I actually cut the 114 down to about 100 pf anyway.

Speaking of which, I wonder how old BH would fare if you vatted it with some 114 to bring it up in strength a little.

That's an intriguing idea. Though, I hate to adulterate the 114, which is one of the 9 in my Top 5 of all time. But, I think I'll put something together. Thanks for the idea. :toast:

Night at home with the wife. Bought a Redemption Bourbon because I have so many wheaters and I needed something more brutal. Tried but ultimately failed to restrain myself from drinking straight from the bottle. It's tough stuff but nice and bracing!

Passed up the BTAC Weller, Stagg, Handy and ER17, all for $70. The guy behind the counter told me it would be good for my soul to get the Weller, and I agreed, but in my view of things I would just do something bad for my soul tomorrow...

I have a bottle of this vatting Joe...I did a 1:1 BH/OGD 114 and call it BHOGD 97...it's pretty nice as the OGD 114 gives the BH some proof and the BH gives the OGD 114 some age.

OWA107 - my first one ever. Hoo-boy, is that sweet! If my recent purchases were animals, this would be a fuzzy bunny.

Also bought an Elmer, which is a bit thin and high in rye character, compared to the last one I got. I guess it's like Sherlock Holmes after his "7.5% solution" - elegant but a bit edgy.

Scored 4 bottles of Van Winkle Rye, 3 A's and 1 B bottles from Frankfort distillery. Paid more than I wanted but no one gets that down here in North AL, GA, and S Tennessee, happy to bunker those now and sip on the one open bottle for the rest of the year.

Went in the store looking for a gift for a friend. I ended up grabbing Myself a bottle of Jefferson Presidential Select 18yo. $30 off at 69.99 it was tough to pass up. I had the 17 and enjoyed it. Maybe a little sleepy and a bit too much oak but, SW juice is still SW juice.

Hopefully, the 18 will be a little brighter. we shall see.

You know Flyfish, our Bourbon selection here in Ohio sucks. I went to buy WR since I've been out for about a month, and saw the old Ezra 101..hey, I'll pick up a bottle of that since its the BOTM. Got talking with someone and walked out without it..
