Did you try any? I always try a small amount right after vatting to have a starting point for future pours once the vatting has some bottle time to "marry".

Yeah, I tried a few variations before I filled an old 750mL bottle with 50% of each. I'll taste it again tonight. It was quite good last night too.

I'd just like to add...that Baby Saz is about 1/3 gone already. I maybe should have picked up two bottles. Me like Manhattans (I did have a friend over as well)

After months of searching, I finally got my first dusty over the weekend - EWSB 1996! I'm going to change my name to hectic2. Eat your heart out Bob.

I picked up a Willett 3 year rye to go with the 5 yr I grabbed a few weeks back. I've been a fan of the 3 (esp. in Manhattans) for awhile, but have started to notice them getting scarcer locally. Wanted to try them side by side -- see if there is a noticeable difference, but moreover, a personal preference.

Not quite sure what you're getting at here but you can have all the EWSB's you want...it's not a bottle I ever buy. I'm glad that you were able to find a bottle that you enjoy!

All I saw that I wanted and could afford was a Saz Jr @ $31.67 including tax....it just keeps going up.

Took a rare day off today and decided to go dusty hunting.... Found a ORVW 10/90, which is a pretty good day considering the rare occurance of any VW product on the shelf these days.

But...on my last stop of the day, I found a lonely bottle of A.H. Hirsch 16 year, gold foil. Best of all, it was priced below $50 bucks.

All, in all, it was a memorable day off!

Good find! I have a couple of those and find it very interesting in that it has a unique, nutty flavor that I don't get in HH products otherwise. I highly recommend grabbing any bottles of '97 that you find - that's been my favorite so far.

Went in for vermouth & Ritt BIB - came out with those and 11 WLW, Stagg. I knew I never should have started talking to the bourbon buyer.

Today I found the only bottles of Dickel Barrel Select I've seen in IL, hand picked in 2006. I've only had brief tastes of this and have adored it every time, so I'm pretty excited to get 'er open!

Has anybody seen any recently that didn't say 2006? The ones that I've seen over the last year or two has always had this as the date.

And I seem to remember some past talk about this too.

I picked up a Four Roses 120th Anniversary Single Barrel, and a Sam Houston Very Small Batch. These Four Roses limited edition releases, so far for me, have been amazing.

I found myself out of bourbon (except for the good stuff) so I picked up a bottle of Knob. One of my favorites and especially so at $23.99.
