Wasnt it decided earlier that they were all 131.6?

I don't know. I think I remember reading somewhere that there would be more than 1 dump. It seems the early info on this was a bit scattered. Figured I would ask around to see if anyone had seen anything different.

Another question. Any idea on how many bottles were/will be produced.

Read the Heaven Hill press release ladies and gents.

Three dumps, likely 3 different proofs and approx 7500 bottles limited edition.

Thank you for the answer.

I did a quick search for the press release but came up on the one from 2 years ago talking about the wheated version. I probably could have put more effort into my search but thought it was a legitimate enough of a question to ask here.

Thanks again.

Well I'm surely happy to have grabbed a few from this first dump. My oh my this stuff is beyond wonderful. It's all there and from the very first pour it delivers in spades. Want to do a side by side with the 4R SmB, but right now, tonight, I'm leaning (heavily) towards the PHC as being the best thing I've tasted this year. Stunning.

For those in Louisville, appears stores are getting second shipments. Stopped at local store today to find 10 bottles on shelf @ $80. If i didn't already have a few i would have leapt at the chance!

I asked my local store to order a case for me, they called today and said it is in the system, but no stock yet at the distributor. I'll post when I get the call to pick it up!

EXCUSE Me! But please keep your dumps:shithappens: to yourself. Believe me, it's none of our business. And yes, I am 14 years old

Got a chance to taste this last night. I put the PHC 131 up against an older WLWeller and the PHC10 wheater. They are all amazing and 95 point whiskey. Different each one, I kept going back to the WLW and the 131. WOWza I love the rye spice in this new PHC. Quite evident aside the wheaters... Oddly, I thought the rye would be more subtle, but noooo..... Incredible. I think I'll be buying another when the chance appears.

My impressions:

From the first sip it's obvious that this is a wonderful whiskey. I get lots of spices: cinnamom and nutmeg on the nose; gingerbread on the palate. Finish is somewhat soft and muted; perhaps the wheater component coming through.

Both complex and subtle. Rich with a wonderful mouth-feel.... a dessert bourbon.

A very complex and interesting pour...just not quite sure still what I think as it has moved around a bit on me in three nights of tasting. Mine is the 127 proof labeled, but per John Hansell, really 131.6 proof. I first thought its nose best, where some of that PHC wheater Baklava with honey smell, can still be detected among the molasses, cedar and celery salt also there. At 90 proof last night, was its weakest showing, and that much water seemed to bring out even some HH mint/eucalyptus. Tonight at 107 proof had it tasting best, with even some coconut and chocolate, along with tobacco and all the spices jburlowski mentions. All the complexity does fade away rather quickly in a shorter finish which has me rating it closer to 90...but there is always another night to change that rating when you're just doing this for pleasure and not a living .

I'd also say this is one which might even give pause to those who dismiss American whiskey.

Yeah, the short finish is the big knock against this pour in my book . But the other, factors, particularly the rich, dense flavors do it for me.
