I opened a fresh bottle of Booker's; 8 years and 2 Mo, batch C97-A-31. This has been sitting was on the floor of my closet for a few years and I thought I'd pull it out and use it to make some bourbon balls.

It's a pleasant but not complicated drink. I'm not a huge fan but I don't want to drink any of my more dear bottles right now. I wish I had some caramel corn warmed up in the microwave to go along with it.

I like Bookers because I feel like Jesse James whenever drinking it.

Home from a fantastic dinner out and dipping into a couple barrel proof bourbons: PHC 2012 with spoonful of water and a WLW 2012 with slightly less water. Both are world-beaters.

Nothing tonight. Wicked cold and can't stop coughing long enough to drink. But my girlfriend did give me a homemade whiskey advent calendar tonight, ha. Apparently I have something special waiting for me on day 25 so...

What?? that's what fixes it. My Granddad taught me that when I was 5 years old. Whiskey and honey fixes the cough just fine. A little more and if the cough is still there, no problems.

Trying Old Fitz BIB for the first time. Better than I expected, considering how nasty I found the Old Fitz 1849 to be.

PHC 2012 devil's batch, cut with some water--delicious. Moved onto some SB blend. Finished off with some V17 wheater.

First a pour from my soon to be empty favorite bottle of whiskey of 2011...the Party Source Abraham Bowman Rye-barrel #2 and 134.6 proof beauty. I've been milking this one for more than a year but its days are numbered. Followed up with a private barrel pick of 4R OBSF that is also in the great whiskey category.

Yeah it's all from stuff I already had and had open. Still I agree, I thought it was very thoughtful and now I have a fun drinking game from here til Christmas!

FedEx driver just made my weekend - my TPS order arrived.

Enjoying VOB BIB for the first time.

Before that had the HH 6 year BIB for the first time.

Later, Bowman TPS barrel #45

Much later, 4R TPS SB OESF barrel strength

4R Small Batch. I've had 4 or 5 from that bottle (my first bottle of that) and I can definitely say that I am a fan.

That Bowman rye is one of my favorites as well. Like you, I have been nursing that puppy for a long time. Very sad day when it's empty.
