Bottle #17 and #18 of FR LE SmB 2012 for the bunker. Already had two bottles and had been eyeing these. I figured they'd be got with all the press they've got in the past week or two.

Picked up a 1.75L of JTS Brown BIB, in the tasty-but-cheap category. I was surprised to see it in Virginia, I've never seen the BIB listed on the state ABC website. Maybe it's the last of their stock?

Binny's is running a great 15 percent off spirits and wine coupon for today only -- put it to good use (I hope!) to buy a JPS 18 batch 13.

Not bourbon but I'm putting it here anyhow. Grabbed a Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky from clavius' Kroger Wine today. Look forward to settling down with it a lil later tonight.

Wife came home with a bottle of HW Rendezvous Rye. If you want to be happy for the rest of your life marry a whiskey drinker.

I made my first bourbon purchase of the year (for myself). My beer store had Weller Sp Reserve on sale for $10.99. I don't think too many of us would have walked out the door without at least 1 bottle. I appreciate the fact that I really enjoy a bourbon this much that can be found for that price.

Made the trip up to Kentucky this weekend for the delightful Angel's Envy event and so I made a pilgrimage to the Party Source while in the area. Also popped into a few other stores along the way. Never know what you might find!

Not all bourbon of course. Indeed much of it is not.

I had reserved a bottle of Barry Crocket Legacy Irish Whiskey at the Party Source just to be sure it would be there. Spendy but I decided I needed a present!

Also picked up a variety of whiskies there and at other spots along the way to include:

Glendronach 15yo Revival - hadn't seen it locally and wanted to give it a try to broaden my scotch appreciation.

CEHT Warehouse C Tornado Survivor bourbon - getting scare and they aren't going to be making more so I picked up another bottle just for fun.

Lot 40 Canadian Whisky - A surprise find and an impulse buy. Just named Canadian whisky of the year on Whiskey Advocate so I decided what the heck!

Willet 8yo barrel strength bourbon - Willet is always a crap shoot but they had an open bottle to taste and i thought it was good. Hard to go wrong with 8yo cask strength bourbon from a major distiller even if you don't know which distiller it was. Heaven Hill or maybe LDI/MGP I suspect but don't know for sure.

George Dickel rye - another LDI/MGP product that has been given the Tennessee whisky treatment with maple charcoal filtering but a good price at under $20 and a few bartenders have said good things about it.

Abraham Bowman port finished bourbon - the pleasant surprise find of the trip as it is a new limited edition bottling. So I got 2!

Greenore 15yo - Another impulse buy to add to the Irish collection. Don't typically see it locally. Or at all...

Old Portero - Like the Greenore it was an impulse buy because I rarely see it in my area. Had tried it before in a bar so I already was familiar with its somewhat distinctive profile.

I have got to learn to control my impulses!

Also a few cocktail mixers and other odds and ends that caught my eye but I won't bore you (any further) with the details!

A fellow SBer and GBSer (thanks again) helped me out on his KY adventure this past weekend and brought me back one each of the TPS Private Selection Smooth Ambler bottlings, both are barreled at cask strength and 7 years old, so I'm looking forward to trying them out. I'd been eyeing them for awhile online, but did not have enough in the cart to make the shipping worthwhile. I figure at $37 a bottle, it's a fair price to try something new and possibly unique.

Any chance you mind spilling the beans on the Lot 40 location? Passed on grabbing one while in Canada this holiday and would love to snag one around here. Thanks.

We don't seem to get much BTAC in NJ, save for a THH here and there. Hence, I never really look for it. Then tonight, I stopped in my local store and found this at $79.99. Needless to say, it came home with me, but I was sad to see a price sticker for the Saz 18 which had already been purchased. First time seeing a GTS in the wild.

Picked up another bottle of Larceny for $18. After the rebate that's an $8 bottle of excellent bourbon. I hope that Parker and Craig don't turn me in because i just robbed them.

On my way back from the Angel's Envy event I picked up a 2x OYO bourbon, New Holland Beer Barreled Bourbon, Basil Hayden (wanted to make sure I had an 8 year bottle to compare to the new "artfully aged" bottles), another bottle of Watershed bourbon, plus a few other bottles of liquor and mixers that no one cares about. The OYO and Watershed are made here in Ohio and I like supporting local businesses. I already owned a bottle of Watershed, and while I am not overly impressed with it, I like being able to serve friends and family something from our home state. I have yet to open up the OYO, but I haven't heard a lot of good things about it so my hopes aren't real high.
