Tough, tough loss. 9 yr 125 proof wheater. Luckily one in the bunker. If this was Twitter I would probably add #willettslut:grin:

Just curious, how did you know this was a wheater? Kudos to you as I have never heard reference to a 9 year wheater offereded by WFE. What do you conclude as the source?

Didn't know for sure until tasting, but bought the one pictured on the recommendation of the whiskey buyer at a local chain. He told me it was a wheater after being involved in the selection so I took it on faith. After opening and tasting quickly bought the backup. Shared w friends and we all concluded that it had to be BT. Compares very favorably to the WLW's. Also had it confirmed by another source that it is BT juice. So there you go best I can say without confirmation from KBD.

Damn that sounds like a good'n. When you crack open the backup I'd love a sample.

Nice! It's interesting how wheaters have become very obvious to tell the difference between BT, Bernheim, and S-W even though they are essentially the same recipe. So basically you got an extra aged barrel proof OWA. You can't go wrong with that!

Hell, that's all some people want.

As predicted the Russeoo Reserve Rye was emptied last night and the Russell Reseve Smb SB will go this afternoon. They were ok but not worth the price IMHO and the mis-labeling of the Small Batch Single barrel still bothers me.

A local store's single barrel selection of Willet bourbon is a 9 year old, I think this one is 122 and change proof. I just grabbed a bottle last time I was there. Haven't tried it yet. I was wondering where the juice might be from and what the mashbill is.

Not bourbon but finished Corsair Triple Smoke. I like it for a change up, pretty interesting stuff

A much-enjoyed bottle of OGD114 emptied while watching the Red Sox and Tigers. Another available in basement storage if the need arises.

They must've put that barrel on the roof. Or maybe it was in warehouse C.
