No, it had been open a while. I have also used that bottle to give out some samples to some people at liquor stores who have not had any before and made myself a little "time capsule" for future enjoyment. I did mistakenly say I was drinking from a 2013 bottle, but it was a 2012 bought early this year.

Come to think of it, it had been open about 8 months. Not sure if that's fast or not. How long do your bottles usually last?

I guess I got confused between your post on opening a 2013 VFWRR with your recent VWFRR acquisition (thought that was the one you had open). My bottles of Rye had been going fairly quicky... I'm on my fourth bottle of the Willett24 Rye (55%) over 3 months - I should probably slow down a little on this Rye.

:)

Nah, I say full steam ahead . Glad to see you are enjoying it, that's why they made it. It is a great pour, I still have about 1 oz of that Willett 24 rye that a very generous SBer sent me. Great folks we have here!

Coming into the cool weather season, I had 3 Saz Jr left over from last year. I had preserved them because there was none to be found around here until just recently. Anyhow, in less than a month, bottle 2 of 3 went dry last night. I may have to replenish these faster than planned...at least while they are plentiful on local shelves. I've been pleasantly surprised at the local stock I've seen of late on Saz Jr...maybe supply is on the uptick (?).

PHC 7th, the nutty component of the finish really grew on me. I think i still prefer the style of the 6th...but I would have gladly enjoyed this for the charity effort alone.

Last pours out of a Heaven Hill Black NAS, AAA 10yr, and Ancnoc 16 ... just a bit more shelf clearing to do this weekend.

Fortunately you won't have to travel far, far away to get some.

Yeah. This wonderful bottle is readily available everywhere! :)

An ETL and a W12 kicked the bucket tonight. The ETL should serve as an excellent receptacle for an SB blend. On that note, can someone send me a link to the label?

Just bid farewell to these three distant (very distant) family members. The Tom Moore BIB handle cost less than the OWA 7--and while the former can be easily replaced; the latter, not so much. Both of them were delicious, dark juices that served me well. The Ten High KSBW is also kin via Tom Moore & Barton, IIRC -- it was good for $9/liter, and had a mild hint of that VOB/1792/Tom Moore sweet-ish cherry flavor (to me, at least); but with VOB BIB being easy to find in NoTex, there's little point to pulling another Ten High KSBW from the shelves again, OOP or not.

The last of a char-blackened, chewy, gritty, flavor-erupting last pour, just fell from an '09 THH (had to look it up...) into my glass. Now, what to do with the vessel that held this Mountain of a Whiskey? I just can't send it to the curb...
