HOF44
I really wanted to like this and I know I'm in the minority, but I just don't care for it.

dcbt
Batch 1 is phenomenal. I have batch 3 and 5 waiting in the wings, just hope those come close to the debut batch.

The Black Tot
I was starting to get the impression that supply had caught up to demand on this one. The last batch release all the retailers near me got a bunch and it lasted a good while. Guess that's not true everywhere.
awachatz
I thought the first release for the best. Just tried the 140 proof and it was hot like Stagg Jr. I used to love barrel proof bourbon, but most of what I have tried lately isn't good. suntour
I thought it might eventually be readily available also...this is the only special release I've seen on a shelf in the last few years. That was awhile ago, now it's always an empty shelf. Not being able to get the special release stuff would be one thing if I could just grab some Four Roses barrel picks, can't get those without driving two hours... biskuit
Crazy. This stuff is still almost as hard to get (in my experience in GA) as BTAC.

jwacky
Oddly, batch six was the first time I've ever found it myself on the shelves in Southern California. I don't LOVE the stuff but there's no debating it's relative value.
bicktrav
Yeah, very seldom see this stuff out here in SoCal. I've got a half through bottle that I'm sacking. Excellent whiskey.
awachatz
I have revisted the 6th batch (140.2 proof) and it seems much better to me now. Definitely the most "oakiest" of the batches which is an aspect that I enjoy in this pour.
BigBoldBully
Still not seeing any of the newer batches in my area either. Only saw the first, which sold out in a day. Definitely expected it would be more available by now.
suntour
The store closest to me had three bottles listed but by the time I got there, no dice. Lots of oregon stores showing it in stock, however. About to kill off my third and final bottle of the first batch. It's still delicious, but it seems more oaky and less chocolatey than I remember. Starting to agree with prescriptions against leaving small amounts in open bottles.

flahute
Yea, general rule of thumb I tend to follow: once a bottle gets to about 1/3 full, either enjoy it or transfer it into an 8oz bottle.I have recently come to this same conclusion. I let a bottle of PVW15 and a lot B from last year sit far too long at 1/3 full or less and when I revisited them over the holidays they were a shell of their former selves.suntour, we still have plenty of this up here in Seattle at Total Wine so if you fund yourself up here, go shopping. GAbiker
Was informed by local distributor that ECBP #7 has JUST been released. And he will be getting 65 three packs....and he has 124 stores wanting them. So half won't be getting any and other half probably won't hit the shelves. Hope my in with my local owner gets me a shot at one.

DonutsNBourbon
hmmm... bourbonr blog was saying it's ready to be released so check in the next couple of weeks for it. Feb 2nd was cited as the ship datehttp://bourbonr.com/blog/elijah-craig-barrel-proof-release-7/and looks like Ezra's is the store you're speaking about Chris M?
