Enjoy. Saw a bunch on the shelf for only the second time last weekend, but out of my league price wise.

I have the 140 proof and the 128 proof. I love the 128 proof. All I can say is cherries. Delicious!

Somewhere, I think in this tread someone poste a link to the various releases and proof. What page is it?

At a new store I went hunting at a week or so ago I was told their distributor informed them we should have it up here in ~1 month so I am crossing my fingers I can find one (or two) this fall at state min pricing but won't be holding my breath.

After not having seen any in years (since batch 1), and having heard of subsequent price hikes, I am resigned to the idea that I may never be buying ECBP again--which still feels strange since initially it was felt that it would be the frequently available, less-hyped, flipper-resistant alternative to BTAC etc.

Likely batch #9 if you bought it in a store.

If you bought it or traded it second hand, may be a gift shop bottle, but I'm betting this is batch 9.

Unless they have changed recently the gift shop CS bottles had the same light beige label the regular 12 has. If the proof doesn't match any other batch then I would also think it is likely to be the newest batch.

I just grabbed a bottle of 135.6 as well. In MI it's about $50 a throw, but worth it to my taste buddies.

I left one on the shelf out of an abundance of altruism. I doubt it'll last long, though.

I believe you are correct, Mark.

Don't feel too bad. I've never even seen a bottle on a store shelf and don't know when I might happen upon one. And that's coming from a hardcore EC fan. Bummed!

My store has plenty, $139.99 though.

At that price I am not sure that would be my store much longer unless there was just no other option. A little more is one thing but double or more is a little annoying!

I purchased both the ETL and W12 around $30 from this store so this was a nice hook to the side.

Looks like our stores got a larger distribution of the latest release (#9) compared to the past releases. Now it's still not a ton and it still goes very quickly but what I'm wondering is if EC is releasing more of the ECBP given the high demand.

It would be easy enough to do, would it not? Correct me if I'm wrong but it is just EC12 at BP correct. You would expect them to have plenty of barrels tagged for EC12, so they could bottle more at BP rather than diluting it to bottle EC12. I would think they could do this to a certain point without hurting the supply of EC12. Also, you would think that they have ramped up production (although maybe not as long as 12 years ago) due to the increase in popularity of bourbon. One thing that argues against this is the move of the "12 years" to the back of the bottle which says to me that they feel that, sometime in the near future, they may need to go NAS because they do not have enough product that is old enough to meet demand. Or maybe I/we are misinterpreting the move of the age statement?

I think they've been cherry picking better barrels for ECBP, too, but I would guess they're selecting to a similar profile. ECBP diluted with water is better to me than most standard batches of EC12 I've had.

I agree. The batches that I've tried (#5,#6,#8) have all been very tasty. It would be a shame to take the quality of ECBP down to make more bottles.

Without getting into the question of how they might increase distribution of ECBP with their stocks of EC12, I would speculate that you simply have good timing if you are spotting more ECBP. Now I suppose, that if you previously saw 3 bottles on the shelf but now you see 12 bottles, then there may be a bit bigger of a distribution. But that only goes so far if those 12 bottles don't get replaced when they are purchased.

Bottom line, I still think that ECBP is highly limited and there simply does not seem to be much to go around. I have not seen one on a shelf here in NJ in years, but I at least bought a few in its early days so I have some around.

Why do you think what I proposed would decrease the quality of ECBP?
