I preferred the OESO over the OBSO as I feel the higher rye content masks some of the delicacy of the O yeast...that is the beauty IMO of it.

Can't speak for the gift shop bottles, but that's been my experience with the two recipes in the past, as well. Like em both, but I sure do love that OESO.

Tried a 10yr Willet at the bar super low fill, tastes like a wheater, nose is a butterscotch bomb. I'd suspect a bernheim or Bt wheater not stizel, but it's super fantastic. Also not bourbon but had a VW Rye after work and feel so lucky to have a bar so close to work that's open till 4am and has a VW allocation.

Tasted some peanut/peanut butter infused OFS last night that was fantastic! Makes me wonder why I haven't just froze a snickers, chopped it up, and infused that!

RRSBSB on ice (again) last night as I was grilling burgers, dogs and corn on the grill. Lighting charcoal in the chimney means time to go fill a glass after lighting and before dumping the coals.

The bottle I have is more than half gone, which means that I should probably pick up another. I know the price is high, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

Sippin' on a little 2013 Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, neat.

The way it's goin' down I'd say I'll be sippin' a bit more than a little.

Wild Turkey 101. Haven't had this in a long time, partly I've been dissuaded by WT 81, which was a great disappointment. However, the 101 struts its stuff, wings a flapping. It's got a dryish, woody edge despite the 6 year old base, and a rye oomph that is unmistakeable. It's a glass of traditional any way you cut it.

I broke down and bought a bottle of James E Pepper 15y bourbon. It's not bad, but it taste like black licorice, in a good way. There is no wood taste in this bourbon. I would have expected more wood from a 15-year-old bourbon. If it was around $40-$45 bottle of bourbon I would buy another.

First pour of Old Charter Classic 90 - slightly dissapointed - decent nose, but seems a little one dimensional and hot for the proof.

Started with 4R SB '13 and finishing with GTS. Very good night.

WT101 was my gateway pour to rye recipe bourbon and rye whiskey after starting off with wheaters.

Seems to be a developing consensus.

WT 101 Rye. Just polished off the bottle. Got one bunkered. Might go out and grab a couple more.

Tornado warnings. Grabbed a family-sized OWA and took shelter. All clear sounded. Still soothing my nerves with the OWA.

Good planning. No telling how long you would be down there and a 750 might have run dry on you:grin:
